BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER's direct junior group CORTIS has announced its official start.
On the afternoon of 18th, a debut showcase for Big Hit Music's new boy group CORTIS was conducted at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan, Seoul.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyeon, Geonho) is a new boy group presented by Big Hit Music, the 'home of boy groups' where BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER are affiliated. Attention from fans worldwide is focused on this new debut of Big Hit Music after a long time since TOMORROW X TOGETHER in 2019.
The group name 'CORTIS' is created by irregularly taking six letters from 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES', meaning 'to think freely outside the standards and rules set by the world.' The members plan to leave another footprint in the music industry with their fresh charm and differentiated sensibility, just like their team name.
After greetings on this day, CORTIS opened up before introducing themselves. Martin said, "Actually, I feel like we could have greeted more energetically," and repeated a more energetic greeting. Martin added, "Hello, I am Martin from CORTIS. Thank you to the reporters who came to our first showcase. I am very honored to stand here with the name CORTIS. Please look forward to and love us going forward."
Then, Juhun said, "I'm curious about how you will listen to our music and I'm looking forward to it. I will always engage with sincerity on stage," and Geonho said, "Thank you for being with us on our debut day. I'm excited to participate as CORTIS. Please watch over us warmly."
Additionally, Seonghyeon stated, "I feel like my dream has come true. I hope you will view us positively as we prepared hard," while James noted, "I participated in the songs and choreographies with the HYBE seniors. Thinking about presenting CORTIS's music today makes me really excited. Thank you."
Regarding CORTIS's debut song 'What You Want', Seonghyeon explained, "This song contains the will to seize what you want without hesitation. It was created after a lot of contemplation until the very last moment of the song camp," and James mentioned, "All five of us participated in the music, performance, and music videos. Please be sure to watch the video that comes out at the end."
Meanwhile, CORTIS's debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES' and their debut song 'What You Want' will be released today (18th) at 6 p.m.
