Comedian Lee Sugeun's wife, Park Jiyeon, is hospitalized for a kidney transplant surgery.
On the 17th, Park Jiyeon revealed a photo of the abundant side dishes she prepared, saying, "Before hospitalization, I made side dishes for my husband. I arranged them in separate containers so it wouldn't be a hassle to open the lids."
She also showed her dedication by saying, "I am also preparing side dishes for my parents who will take care of me, and sending some to my friends."
Park Jiyeon, who made side dishes until the day before her hospitalization to share with friends. Friends expressed their gratitude, saying, "My beloved Jiyeon. Take some rest before your hospitalization. Thank you so much for making and delivering side dishes until the day before. Jiyeon worked hard again today, so everything will be fine."
Meanwhile, Park Jiyeon suffered kidney damage due to complications from pregnancy-induced hypertension during her second pregnancy in 2011 and received a kidney transplant from her father, but as the transplant didn't settle well, she endured painful kidney dialysis treatment for over 10 years.
When she was advised for a kidney transplant by the medical staff in 2021, Park Jiyeon initially strongly rejected it due to the pain from the first surgery, but after hearing that advancements in technology and improvements in medication could change her quality of life, she reluctantly changed her mind and applied for a waiting list for a deceased donor. Park Jiyeon decided to undergo her second surgery to receive a kidney transplant from her biological brother in mid-August.
