Comedian Lee Sugeun's wife, Park Jiyeon, is hospitalized for kidney transplant surgery.
On the 17th, Park Jiyeon shared a photo saying, "Preparing dishes for my husband before hospitalization. I made plenty of dishes in individual containers, thinking it might be bothersome to open the lids."
She also showed her thoughtfulness by saying, "I'm also preparing dishes for my parents who will be taking care of me and sending some to friends."
Meanwhile, Park Jiyeon received a kidney transplant from her father after her kidneys were damaged due to complications from pregnancy-induced hypertension during her second pregnancy in 2011 and has endured painful kidney dialysis treatment for over 10 years.
When she was advised by medical staff for a kidney transplant in 2021, Park Jiyeon initially rejected it strongly due to the pain from her first surgery. However, after hearing that advancements in technology and improvements in medication could change her quality of life, she reluctantly changed her mind and applied to wait for a donation from a brain-dead donor. Park Jiyeon decided to receive her second transplant from her biological brother in mid-August.
