Actor Tae Hang-ho captivated viewers with his meticulous and persistent investigative acting in "Mary Kills People."
The recent airing MBC drama "Mary Kills People" is a suspense drama that deals with the story of a doctor who assists terminally ill patients in dying and a detective who tracks them down. In this, Tae Hang-ho is active as a 'sub-detective' investigating the assisted dying cases.
The sub-detective proposes a trap operation, disguising his fellow detective Ban Ji-hoon (played by Lee Min-ki) as a terminal cancer patient named "Jo Hyun-woo" to approach Woo So-jung (played by Lee Bo-young). Although he appears to be a patient preparing for death on the surface, in reality, it was a meticulous plan to capture Woo So-jung.
When Ban Ji-hoon hesitated, mentioning his past failed undercover investigation after receiving the proposal, the sub-detective persuaded him, saying, "You should come back to the violent crimes unit this time. How long will you stay on the street?" The operation began under tension due to the sub-detective's words, but Woo So-jung figured out Ban Ji-hoon's identity, causing the plan to collapse emptily.
When the plan failed, the sub-detective expressed regret and anger. However, he soon moved to find new clues. He personally visited individuals related to the case, conducting interviews in pursuit of a thorough investigation, narrowing down the scope of his investigation with an intensity that left no small evidence overlooked. His actions elevated the tension of the drama, increasing viewer immersion.
Tae Hang-ho maintained the character's tension by pushing hard when needed and keeping an unwavering expression and gaze, even when situations changed. He heightened the persuasiveness of his lines and proved his acting skills accumulated over time with a commanding presence that led scenes. There is growing interest in what changes he will bring to the case as a detective who does not give up on the case.
"Mary Kills People" airs every Friday and Saturday night at 10 p.m.
