The third episode of KBS 2TV's weekend drama 'Our Golden Days' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok, written by So Hyun-kyo), aired on the 16th, depicted the family of Lee facing each of their own trials.
In this episode, Ji Eun-oh (played by Jung In-sun) confided to her friend Oh Soo-jung (played by Lim Young-joo) that her relationship with Lee Ji-hyuk (played by Jung Il-woo) had ended. Shortly thereafter, Soo-jung was unable to hide her surprise upon seeing Ji-hyuk and Eun-oh engage in conversation as if nothing had happened, walking into the café as usual. Park Sung-jae (played by Yoon Hyun-min) was enraged upon learning that Ji-hyuk had rejected Eun-oh's confession. Ultimately, the conversation between the two men surrounding Eun-oh escalated into conflict, signaling the beginning of a love triangle.
Around the same time, Lee Soo-bin (played by Shin Soo-hyun), the youngest daughter of Lee Sang-cheol, experienced humiliation when she was dismissed for being unemployed during a blind date arranged by a marriage information company. The second child, Lee Ji-wan (played by Son Sang-yeon), was also shocked when his girlfriend revealed that she was going to marry another man.
Meanwhile, Ji-hyuk stopped Sang-cheol, who was going to return the consolation money to Chairman Choi, and revealed that he knew about the failed re-employment. This caused Sang-cheol to leave the scene in anger and shame. Although he returned the consolation money to Chairman Choi's son and ended the re-employment issue while wishing for Chairman Choi's recovery, his poignant figure amidst the bitter reality only heightened the feeling of pity.
Adding to the chaos, it was revealed that the new employee Oh Jae-jin (played by Kim Jin-woo) was the only son of the vice president, increasing the intrigue. He, who appeared as the 'Deputy Minister' to crush Ji-hyuk's pride, ordered the collection of congratulatory money for his wedding, and feeling humiliated, Ji-hyuk threw down his resignation letter. With Sang-cheol and Ji-hyuk both losing their jobs, the anxiety overshadowing their futures grew deeper.
At the end of the broadcast, in response to Eun-oh's question, 'What do you mean I don't fit in?' Ji-hyuk ultimately replied, 'It's important that I can never be in a romantic relationship with you, nor do I intend to,' maximizing the conflict. Amidst all the tangled situations, Jeong Bo-ah (played by Go Won-hee) surprised Ji-hyuk with an unexpected marriage proposal upon hearing the news of his resignation, adding a shocking proposal ending. It left viewers eagerly anticipating what choice Ji-hyuk will make regarding this shocking proposal in the next broadcast.
