The growth of the global girl group KATSEYE is remarkable. Just over a year after debuting, their Spotify monthly listeners have surged more than threefold, demonstrating a status comparable to that of seasoned top-tier artists.
According to HYBE and Geffen Records on the 16th, KATSEYE's Spotify monthly listeners recorded 25.175911 million based on the latest tally (July 17 to August 13). This puts them just behind BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE in terms of listeners during the same period. While a direct comparison is difficult, considering KATSEYE has now entered their second year of activity, this is a notable achievement.
During their debut EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)', the Spotify monthly listeners (based on August 15 to September 11, 2024) were approximately 8.19 million. After steadily increasing their presence, KATSEYE reached 10 million monthly listeners earlier this year, and they elevated their status further with the official announcement of their second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' last June.
KATSEYE is also making strides on major global charts. The track 'Gabriela' from 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' climbed 20 spots to 77th in the UK 'Official Singles Top 100' updated on the 15th, marking six consecutive weeks on the chart. In Spotify's 'Weekly Top Song Global' (August 8 to 14), 'Gabriela' ranked 23rd, and 'Gnarly' ranked 77th.
Notably, even though 'Gnarly' was released as a digital single over three months ago, it continues to enjoy 'long-lasting popularity.' This track surpassed 100 million cumulative streams on Spotify within 52 days of its release, and it is on the verge of reaching 200 million. 'Gabriela' achieved 100 million streams on Spotify even faster, in just 38 days, and KATSEYE's total cumulative plays across the 13 songs released so far have exceeded 1 billion.
KATSEYE is expanding its global influence with a wide musical spectrum based on overwhelming skill and powerful live performances. Recently, they thrilled tens of thousands of spectators at the largest music festival in the U.S., Lollapalooza Chicago, receiving praise from local media and critics. They will carry this momentum into their performance at 'Summer Sonic 2025' in Tokyo, Japan, on the 17th.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE is a six-member girl group that debuted in the U.S. through a large-scale global audition project called 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' jointly planned by HYBE and Geffen Records. Their second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' achieved a peak position of 4th on the main album chart 'Billboard 200' (dated July 12), and the two songs 'Gnarly' and 'Gabriela' simultaneously entered the Billboard 'Hot 100' earlier.
