When she was advised by medical staff to undergo a kidney transplant in 2021, Park Jiyeon initially strongly refused due to the pain of her first surgery, but after hearing that advancements in technology and drug improvements could elevate her quality of life, she reluctantly changed her mind and applied for a waiting list for a brain-dead donor.
