Actor Kim Kang-woo made his first appearance as a new chef on 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant,' showcasing his romantic side that can only be referred to as the 'romantic chef.'
On the 15th, actor Kim Kang-woo appeared as a new chef on KBS2TV's Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant.
On that day, the broadcast revealed Kim Kang-woo's home for the first time. He, born in 1978 and currently 47 years old, appeared nervously in the kitchen. He has maintained a routine of making a 'special juice recipe that makes you 10 years younger' every morning for the past 10 years, sharing it equally with his wife. His thoughtful gesture of taking care of his wife's portion highlighted his romantic side.
Earlier, Kim Kang-woo married Han Mu-young in 2010 and has two sons. His wife is also well-known as the older sister of actress Han Hye-jin. Everyone was surprised to learn that this year marks their 15th wedding anniversary.
He said, 'I promised I would never ask my wife to make me food even before we got married. I feel sorry to ask her to take care of me when she is preparing food for the kids. Feeding two kids is really hard work.' He stated that regarding household chores, 'It's not about helping; it's a matter of naturally doing things together as a couple.'
The broadcast also unveiled his parenting diary, which he has been keeping for 15 years. He has recorded entries daily, even amid a busy schedule, since hearing the news of his first child. He continues to maintain the diary in a different format and it is filled with stories he wants to share with his children, as well as affection for his wife.
Kim Kang-woo shared that he took a year off from acting to focus on parenting, noting, 'Both being a dad and a mom is new, and I wanted to raise them together.' He added, 'Making sure my wife and children feel secure at home is my life goal,' and expressed, 'I hope my presence alone brings comfort to the family.' He emphasized, 'The time we all eat together is the most precious in the world.'
As he began cooking, he used a 'phone chance' to learn his wife's low-sodium soybean paste recipe. The moment he made the call, smiles spread, capturing the attention with the couple speaking respectfully to each other. The cast expressed their admiration, saying it felt like they were in love as he playfully said, 'I love you~ Hi~'.
The panelists remarked, 'This will be a great gift for the kids,' and laughed, saying, 'I didn't know you were such a warm husband and dad. Usually, husbands run away.' Lee Jeong-hyun noted, 'Your wife must be very happy. I can feel the devotion and romance from you as a dad,' while Chef Lee Yeon-bok praised him as 'a responsible and wonderful romantic man.' As a result, Kim Kang-woo earned the nickname 'romantic chef.'
