'Problem Child in House' actor Ryu Soo-young earned over 100 million won in royalties from his cookbook.
On the afternoon of the 14th, in the KBS 2TV entertainment program 'Problem Child in House,' Ryu Soo-young, who attracted attention with his super simple home-cooked recipe as 'Eo Nam-sensei,' appeared as a guest.
Ryu Soo-young revealed on a broadcast that his cookbook has gone to the 11th printing. Song Eun-i quickly calculated, 'It's 100 million won just from royalties.' He noted the lengthy preparation period of four years, saying, 'Since a cookbook goes into the mouth, I felt it might be embarrassing if there were mistakes, so I prepared thoroughly,' displaying his perfectionist side.
In response, his wife Park Ha-sun joked, 'Didn't I tell you to write it earlier?' drawing laughter. Ryu Soo-young further added that Park Ha-sun now makes his dishes for their daughter using the cookbook, adding warmth to the story.
Ryu Soo-young also mentioned a lecture he gave at Stanford University in the U.S. He delivered the lecture in English, stating that he chose to do it himself for the reason that 'the meaning gets lost through interpretation.' He shared his secret to studying English, saying, 'I consistently practiced shadowing, and it seems that momentum helps in learning English.' He also revealed that he has been filming a documentary for the BBC Earth for a year, hinting at his global activities.
