Actor Lee Ji-hoon is indeed the subject of the reports alleging domestic violence against his wife, but he stated that the claims of violence are "completely false."
On the 14th, his agency, Y1 Entertainment, stated, "The '40s actor A' reported today is indeed our affiliated actor Lee Ji-hoon" and added, "While police were called due to a report by the spouse during a verbal dispute, it was determined through on-site statements and investigations that it was not a serious matter. There was absolutely no act of violence, and the spouse also clarified that there was no intention to seek punishment. The case is currently undergoing closure procedures."
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 24th of last month, reports emerged that a 40s actor A was reported to have assaulted his wife in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province. At that time, actor A was said to have attempted to leave the house during a domestic dispute, and a physical altercation occurred while trying to stop him. The police investigated actor A on charges of assault, but since the wife did not wish to pursue punishment, the case was classified as a domestic protection matter.
In particular, as actor A is known to have a background of appearing in a "10 million viewer" movie, speculation about his identity continued online. It was later revealed that he is Lee Ji-hoon, who made a significant impression as Yang Jong-soo in the movies "The Outlaws 3 and 4."
Lee Ji-hoon, who debuted as a KBS 20th recruit talent in 2003, has appeared in over 30 dramas and 20 films over the past 20 years, including the movies "The Outlaws 3 and 4 (2023, 2024)," "Sweet & Sour: 7510 (2023)," "Air Murder (2022)," "Mission Possible (2021)," and "Happy New Year (2021)," and dramas "The Killer's Affair (2024)," "The Goryeo Khitan War (2024)," "Hospital Playlist 1 and 2 (2020, 2021)," and "Hush (2021)." After joining "The Outlaws" series for the third installment, he reprised his role as the veteran detective Yang Jong-soo (played by Ma Dong-seok), exuding dazzling action performances and gentle charisma. In "Hospital Playlist," he played the surgeon Lee Ji-hoon and engaged in a psychological battle regarding Lee Ik-jun (played by Jo Jung-seok) and Jang Kyeo-wool (played by Shin Hyun-bin), drawing attention with his comedic presence during a ping-pong match, demonstrating a fantastic chemistry with fellow actors across genres from action to comedy.
The agency noted, "This incident was merely an incident during a domestic dispute" and added, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people. Both parties are taking time to reflect on themselves."
