Former announcer and broadcaster Kim So-young is closing the bookshop she opened in Gwanggyo.
On the 15th, Kim So-young stated on social media, "The Book Development Gwanggyo branch, which has been operating for over six years since 2019, will end operations in August 2025 due to the expiration of its contract with the shopping mall."
Kim So-young noted, "By creating the Gwanggyo branch, I think I started my own business. After running small stores near my house, I embarked on what I considered to be beyond my abilities, and I experienced and learned a lot." She added, "While looking back, I feel some regret because the only thing I could do was learn together with everyone. Thanks to the team members who believed in a lackluster leader and spent their precious time in life, the Gwanggyo branch was able to operate."
She continued, "The reason we were able to sustain operations was thanks to the customers who visited and loved the Gwanggyo branch. We had many family guests, in particular. Many customers expressed how nice it was to have such a place in our neighborhood. There were so many wonderful people. So, whenever I went to Gwanggyo, I felt good and happy. I hope you all have such memories as well."
Meanwhile, Kim So-young is married to broadcaster Oh Sang-jin, with whom she has one daughter. She is currently known to be running four businesses.

When I created the Gwanggyo branch, I
wanted to create a place like Tsutaya, which offers suggestions based on preferences.
A space where books, lifestyle, and cafes coexist.
I wanted to create.
Filling a space of a little over 100 pyeong meaningfully was not easy.
Here, I learned what it means to 'imagine the customer,'
and it was a time filled with trial and error, where I tried to fill in the shortcomings with sincerity.
By creating the Gwanggyo branch, I think I started my own business.
After running small stores near my house, I think I started doing what I considered beyond my abilities.
I experienced and learned a lot.
When I think of the Gwanggyo branch, the first thing that comes to mind is the faces of the employees who helped me create and grow.
At that time, I didn't know much about how to work with employees or how to give instructions.
Since I didn't know much,
the only thing I could do was learn together with everyone, and looking back, I feel some regret.
Thanks to the team members who believed in a lackluster leader and spent their precious time in life, the Gwanggyo branch was able to operate.
I also remember that many people came from various regions across the country to refer to the Gwanggyo branch,
and I recall receiving many collaboration proposals and inquiries about opening new branches.
Perhaps at that time, I could have focused more on offline business, but as soon as that happened, I encountered COVID-19.
It is regrettable that during most of the six years, we all had to wear masks, but
the reason we were able to sustain operations was thanks to the customers who visited and,
loved the Gwanggyo branch.
There were many family guests, in particular. Many customers expressed how nice it was to have such a place in our neighborhood.
So, whenever I went to Gwanggyo, I felt good and happy.
