Actress Sung Hyun-ah revealed her recent status with a bright smile, six months after announcing her battle with pyelonephritis.
Sung Hyun-ah posted a selfie on her social media account on the 14th, greeting, "Hello, it's been a while. How have you been?" She explained the reason for not being in touch with her fans, saying, "I changed my phone and forgot the code, so my account got locked. I've restored it now." She added, "I apologize for causing worry. I am doing well. I saw that there were concern messages… It's already autumn, everyone, stay strong."
Earlier, Sung Hyun-ah confessed in February that she was battling pyelonephritis through her social media. He suspected a disc problem due to back pain and sought medical help, where he was diagnosed with diverticulitis, but since there was no improvement even with medication, he reported that he was diagnosed with pyelonephritis after further examination. At that time, medical staff suggested hospitalization, but he mentioned that he could not be hospitalized due to needing to take care of his son alone during the vacation.
He expressed his feelings, saying, "Because I'm sick, the home environment is a mess, and my spirit has been devastated," and he asked fans for understanding, saying, "I'll take a little break and be back."
Born in 1994 and a contestant at the 38th Miss Korea, Sung Hyun-ah actively worked across dramas and films but was briefly indicted for charges related to prostitution in December 2013. Although it could have ended with a fine without public identification, she filed a formal trial due to her grievance. However, she received guilty verdicts in the first and second trials, and after a long legal battle, she was acquitted of prostitution charges after two years and six months in 2016.
Following this, news of her husband's sudden death while they were separated in May 2017 was announced, and a year later, Sung Hyun-ah made her return to drama and officially resumed her activities.
In a past broadcast, Sung Hyun-ah mentioned regarding her acquittal, "I received a call saying I was acquitted while pushing a stroller. At that moment, I calmly went back to shopping, realizing I had lost so much, but gained the greatest thing in the world: understanding my child and the ways of the world."
