Former S.E.S member Shu (real name Yoo Soo-young) has hinted she will speak directly about divorce rumors with her husband, Lim Hyo-sung.
On the 15th, a video titled "Shu is back (Why did I return after 8 years?)" was uploaded on the channel 'Human That's Shu.'
That day, standing in front of the camera, Shu said, "When I was a teenager, I never imagined I would be a mother of twins at all. I don't think I ever really pictured marriage. I wanted to run a café or something with artistic people even in my 40s. It was a modest dream."
She expressed her genuine feelings, saying, "People ask me, 'If you could go back to the past, would you?' But I say I wouldn't go back. My values in life have changed a lot over the past few years. I've truly experienced extremes, and I don't know how many more extremes there will be in my life, but if I've lived for someone or something in the past, moving forward, I want to live for myself and for my people."
In 2019, Shu was sentenced to six months in prison with a two-year probation for habitual gambling. After completing 80 hours of community service, he continued his volunteer activities. When asked about what led him to volunteer, he said, "This can be seen as pretentious or an image makeover. Even if that's what people say, I don't mind. I'm doing this because it genuinely comes from my heart, so it might be a show, and there could be many stories. However, the time spent here is priceless compared to money."
He added, "It's been a while since I started volunteering. Even when I was having a tough time, I went there and got smiles from the children. That's their workplace. They work hard there, nurturing flowers and creating space. I feel so happy with them. Seeing those children trying to live earnestly, I realized how much I gained during that long time when I was struggling. I think it was a crucial part of helping me overcome it. I go there and keep laughing. They welcome me a lot, and they want to eat with me. They really like me, the true me, Yoo Soo-young, they know my sincerity and care about my genuine feelings."
He said, "In the past, I was just scared. I thought, 'I can't do it anymore; I want to quit entertainment,' but once I return to that place, everyone else could be cursing and pointing fingers, but they really talk to me about those things. I felt incredibly grateful for that," he said, his eyes glistening with tears. He added, "They are true friends. I really wanted to express how grateful I am."
A while later in June, Shu visited a studio in Pajoo for filming. He said, "It feels like I'm returning to broadcasting after 9 years. Doesn't time go by too fast?" He continued, "The discussion started about a month ago, but when I was first approached, I thought, 'Should I even go on? I shouldn't ruin the program by being there.' I had a lot of thoughts about whether I should stand in front of the public. What if I affect someone? Those thoughts weighed heavily on me, and I was also worried about whether I would do well.
He continued, "The feeling of going on the first broadcast is real. It's just like the feeling we had when S.E.S went on our first broadcast. How can I not be nervous after 9 years? But thanks to my senior, Ji Seok-jin, who kindly said, 'Hey, Shu! It's nothing. You need to do a lot of activities,' and my senior Lee Kyung-sil also advised, 'Shu, you need to enjoy while doing activities because you're getting older.' I appreciated that advice a lot."
In particular, at the end of the video, a preview showed Shu sitting alongside Lim Hyo-sung, catching attention. Shu asked, "The word couple is quite burdensome, don't you think we are a couple?" Lim Hyo-sung replied, "We've been married for 4 years and friends for 11 years" and added, "We are not more than that."
Shu remarked, "I think we consider each other like friends, so there's hardly any fighting, right?" Lim Hyo-sung candidly replied, "Right, I try not to fight, even when you keep nagging." Shu then surprised Lim Hyo-sung with the bombshell question, "Don't you have a pretty decent girlfriend these days?" The two have previously been embroiled in divorce rumors several times following gambling controversies, but they have denied them. However, in a recent video, it was revealed that the two had briefly separated, during which Shu's gambling issues emerged, and Lim Hyo-sung had also helped pay off some of the gambling debts.
Lim Hyo-sung seemed baffled, saying, "It's crazy. Are you a psycho?" Shu responded, "I can ask that, can't I? How great would it be in an American style?" Lim Hyo-sung then showed disgust while Shu's voice asserted, "We are managing very well as friends without fighting," along with a caption stating, "The truth about the couple Shu, which was only rumored, will be revealed next week," raising curiosity.
