This was because the romantic reunion between the production team of 'Documentary Three Days' and two young people was thwarted by an absurd false threat from a high school student.
In the summer of 2015, the production team of KBS 'Documentary Three Days' (hereafter referred to as Documentary Three Days) met two female college students at Andong Station, who were on a train trip called 'Tomorrow.' At that time, the two young people made a promise to travel again in 10 years and said to the production team, "Make sure to film a documentary in 10 years as well." In response, the production team replied, "Let's meet here on August 15, 2025," leaving an unforgettable promise.
The promise to definitely film a documentary again in 10 years could not be kept. This is because 'Documentary Three Days' ended in 2022. However, this romantic promise resurfaced in the public's memory after 10 years. Many hoped that this meeting would be an emotional starting point heralding the revival of 'Documentary Three Days.'
On the day of the promise, the production team of 'Documentary Three Days' arrived at Andong Station, and the realization of emotion and romance approached when it was reported through a live broadcast capturing the moment that "a woman has arrived at the scene."
However, that moment could not be witnessed. At around 7:37 a.m. that morning, a message appeared in the live broadcast chat stating, "I will blow up the old Andong Station square." The police, upon receiving the report, immediately deployed the special police to control the scene and began searching, leading to the suspension of the live broadcast. The crowd that had gathered at the scene was dispersed, and the long-anticipated reunion after 10 years ended in futility.
Subsequently, the police tracked the suspect through location tracking and apprehended a high school boy surnamed A at his home in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, on charges of public intimidation. Boy A admitted to all the charges, and the police are reportedly investigating the exact motive behind the crime. The comment left for an unknown reason doused the hopes of everyone longing for a romantic meeting.
In less than half a day, the quick apprehension of the perpetrator highlighted how light and careless comments online can carry significant responsibility. Since the mobilization of police forces and the control of the scene caused significant social chaos, the false threat hidden behind anonymity could not be dismissed as simple pranks. Above all, there is a strong sense of regret that it abruptly took away the precious promise that crossed 10 years and the expectations and romance of many who supported it.
