EXO Chanyeol infused a more mature attitude toward life into his new solo album, which is set to be released close to the first anniversary of his solo debut.
Chanyeol's second mini album "Upside Down," which will be released on Aug. 25, contains various emotions felt in life, allowing listeners to experience both the brilliant and dark moments of life through music, which is expected to resonate with them.
The track "High & Dry" included in this album is a slow-tempo pop song influenced by country and pop rock, showcasing a combination of acoustic guitar and pedal steel guitar that evokes a warm yet lonely mood, with lyrics depicting a modern individual's desire to reclaim their true self amidst emptiness and lethargy.
Additionally, "123 Dance" features vintage and rough textures created by old-school drums and lively synth bass, characterized as a hip-hop song, with lyrics expressing a positive attitude about recalling the people who support him and making the best effort in every moment, combined with Chanyeol's dynamic flow rapping.
Meanwhile, Chanyeol's solo debut anniversary concert "CHANYEOL [Upside Down: Sound Stage]" held at YES24 Live Hall on Aug. 31 quickly sold out after ticket reservations opened, confirming the intense interest in Chanyeol.
