Singer Kim Jong-kook displayed his frugal side even after purchasing a 6.2 billion won property.
A new report about the luxury villa that Kim Jong-kook recently acquired, which has garnered significant attention, will be revealed on the KBS2 entertainment show "Problem Child in House" airing on the afternoon of the 14th.
Previously, Kim Jong-kook bought a high-end villa in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, for a total cash price of about 6.2 billion won.
According to the real estate industry and the Supreme Court registry office, Kim Jong-kook purchased a unit in the Nonhyeon AOOO complex (a dedicated area of 243㎡ for one household) in Gangnam for 6.2 billion won last April and reportedly completed the registration on the same day. Most importantly, the villa purchased by Kim Jong-kook did not have a mortgage, as he paid the entire amount in cash.
Kim Jong-kook bought the luxury villa for residential purposes, and it is known that actors Jang Geun-suk and Lee Yo-won live in the building as well.
In particular, during the recording that day, Kim Jong-kook, who moved into the 6.2 billion won luxury villa, attracted attention by revealing updates on his new home.
Kim Jong-kook noted, "I always turn off the lights in the shared storage and the air conditioning," showcasing his ongoing spirit of thriftiness. Joo Woo-jae remarked, "There are rumors that a ghost appeared in that building because of you," eliciting a chuckle from Kim Jong-kook. Following this, a playful banter between Kim Jong-kook and Joo Woo-jae heightened curiosity.
Last month, Kim Jong-kook revealed during "Problem Child in House" the background of his cash purchase of the property, saying, "I have had no interest in financial technology until now. I thought it was okay to live in a one-room. I only saved money all this time," surprising many by explaining that this was his first home achieved through savings.
"Problem Child in House" will air at 8:30 p.m. on the 14th.
