'You Quiz on the Block' Yoo Jae-suk revealed his deep connection with Im Sung-hoon.
On the episode aired on the 13th of the tvN entertainment program 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz'), Im Sung-hoon, who marked his 50th anniversary of debut, made an appearance.
On that day's opening, Yoo Jae-suk stated, 'He is a legendary senior in the entertainment industry and the one who debuted me.' At this time, Im Sung-hoon appeared and asked, 'What were you talking about?' Yoo Jae-suk replied, 'He said he debuted me at the college comedy contest in 1991.'
Yoo Jae-suk also conveyed his congratulations for the 50th anniversary of his debut, and Im Sung-hoon remarked, 'That means I've aged a lot, but seeing myself persistently sitting here like this is remarkable. I'm telling this to myself.'
Yoo Jae-suk said, 'Isn't it amazing to have walked steadily in one field for almost half a century?' However, Im Sung-hoon humbly responded, 'I still don't think I'm a master yet, and there are still many areas I'm lacking. Looking back at the programs I've hosted, I've never been 100% satisfied. I only see the things that are lacking every time I look at them.'
He added, 'If I become a master, I shouldn't still be seeing these things, but I still think, 'You're still far from it; do you still speak like that?''
Meanwhile, Yoo Jae-suk asked, 'Once you grab the microphone, there are many shows that have lasted over five years. You've been running for 50 years, so it seems you haven't spent much time with your family.'
Im Sung-hoon replied, 'Aren't both of you the same?' and mentioned, 'I have no vacations,' explaining that he woke up at 4 a.m. and returned home around 11 p.m. He shared that due to his always busy schedule, his eldest son hadn't seen the ocean until he was in the 4th grade of elementary school.
As a result, Im Sung-hoon received permission from the broadcasting station for the first time and took his family on a sea trip, accompanying them to a live broadcast program taking place on the east coast.
Im Sung-hoon shared, 'My eldest son even took his first flight when he was a freshman in university while going to Jeju Island. It's no wonder he was recording with his camcorder in a corner of the plane, saying, "Finally, I'm about to take off on an airplane; this is an emotional moment for me."'
Yoo Jae-suk, who had been quietly listening, burst into laughter, saying, 'Your son is the producer of 'Running Man.' I should have treated him better if I had known this.'
