Actress Seong Hyeon-a revealed her recent status six months after confessing her battle with eosinophilic leukemia.
Seong Hyeon-a posted a selfie on her SNS on the 14th. In the photo, Seong Hyeon-a is smiling brightly at the camera.
Seong Hyeon-a greeted, "Hello, it's been a while. I hope you are doing well?" and explained the reason she had not communicated with her fans, saying, "I changed my phone and forgot the code, so my account was locked. I've restored it now."
She added, "I'm sorry for worrying you. I'm doing well. It seems I received many concern messages… It's already autumn, everyone stay strong."
Seong Hyeon-a announced her battle with eosinophilic leukemia in February.
On February 8, Seong Hyeon-a posted a lengthy message on her SNS, stating, "I haven't been active lately. I should check in and do business, but I am suffering from eosinophilic leukemia, which I had never experienced before. It seems to be due to a lot of stress, and it really hurts a lot."
She continued, "I thought my back pain was due to a herniated disc, so I went to an internal medicine doctor, and they referred me to a larger hospital, where I was told I had diverticulitis. Even with medication, I wasn't getting better, and when I went back, they said it was eosinophilic leukemia."
Seong Hyeon-a explained, "Like a fool, I wasted time, which made my illness worse, and now I can't do anything. It's not a quick-recovering disease, but I hear that if I'm hospitalized and receive treatment, it can speed up recovery. However, it's during vacation, so I can't afford to be hospitalized. Plus, I'm unwell, which has left my home in a mess and my mind in ruins, so I'll take a little break and return soon."
Seong Hyeon-a added, "It's not polite to leave without saying anything, so I'll leave a short message. Have a good weekend."
Seong Hyeon-a, a Miss Korea contestant in the 38th competition in 1994, returned to acting in 2020 with the drama 'Firebird 2020', and has since taken a break from entertainment activities. She is currently raising a son alone.
