Boys from HYBE Latin America, dreaming of becoming global pop stars, will finally unveil themselves tomorrow (15th).
According to HYBE Latin America on the 14th (Korea Standard Time), the reality series 'SANTOS BRAVOS,' which selects a boy idol group in Mexico, will be premiered on YouTube tomorrow (15th) at 9 a.m.
This series will also be broadcast on the world's largest music platform, Spotify, on the 16th, and on the U.S. streaming service ViX and music channel EXA TV on the 17th. After that, a new episode will be released every week, allowing global music fans to enjoy diverse content available on their preferred platforms anytime and anywhere.
'SANTOS BRAVOS' is a project that integrates HYBE's systematic artist discovery and training system with the unique cultural and artistic sensibilities of Latin America. Sixteen audition participants, initially selected from multiple countries and regions, including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, Spain, and the United States, will compete and be ultimately selected as the debut team of the series.
It is noted as HYBE's second large-scale project in the Latin region, targeting the global music market with its 'Multi-home, Multi-genre' strategy. HYBE Latin America has already demonstrated its potential for success with the first local band audition program 'Pase a la Fama.' This program, which began in June, recorded the highest viewership rating in its timeslot on Spanish-language networks in the U.S., with a total audience of 688,000 viewers (based on Nielsen ratings), generating significant buzz.
'SANTOS BRAVOS' has significantly expanded its airing range not only on TV channels but also through YouTube and social media. This serves as a cornerstone to effectively connect the MZ generation's content consumption habits with the global fandom. The collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records to create the girl group KATSEYE, which is gaining popularity, exemplifies how to increase access, participation, and engagement among global fans.
The local atmosphere toward 'SANTOS BRAVOS' has already heated up. Since July, the fan experience exhibition 'HYBE Experience,' held at Bicentenario Park in Mexico City, has been fully booked. Additionally, over 150 representatives from major global brands and more than 100 journalists from influential media attended 'The Drop,' an event introducing the artists and production capabilities of HYBE Latin America, including 'SANTOS BRAVOS,' capturing early attention.
HYBE Latin America noted, "We will convey the participants' challenges and growth, special guest appearances and collaborations with artists, and the moments when cultural phenomena are born to music fans around the world," adding that it aims to create a new flow that connects entertainment, music, culture, and community, breaking down borders.
Global creative experts are joining in large numbers, raising expectations. Kenny Ortega, who directed Disney's hit series 'High School Musical' and 'Descendants,' will serve as the art director for 'SANTOS BRAVOS,' while hitmaker Johnny Goldstein, who has worked with Shakira, BTS's J-Hope, and ENHYPEN, will take on the role of music producer, and RAab Stevenson, who has collaborated with Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, and SZA, will serve as the vocal coach.
Jaime Escallón from Colombia, who produced 'X Factor' and 'Survivor,' will be the showrunner, and Lucas Jaramillo will be the producer. In addition, Emmy-winning director Alejandro Bernal and the head of training and development at HYBE Latin America, Kwon Ae-young, will contribute.
