Actor Jang Dong-yoon has become the world's best-looking defeat fairy.
On the 13th, Jang Dong-yoon posted a short message saying "Samsung Lions" along with a baseball cap and a baseball emoji on his Instagram account. He appeared as the starting pitcher at the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League game between the Samsung Lions and the KIA Tigers held at Daegu Samsung Lions Park on this day.
Jang Dong-yoon, who has been a fan of the Samsung Lions since childhood, displayed impressive physicality, worthy of a player, while donning the uniform. Most notably, he threw the ball powerfully towards catcher Kang Min-ho's mitt from the pitching mound, attracting attention. After throwing a strike, he and Kang Min-ho even performed a salute ceremony together.
This is the ceremony performed by the Samsung Lions pitcher Lee Ho-seong and catcher Kang Min-ho together. As a true 'Sam-rini', Jang Dong-yoon spectacularly completed his pitch and earnestly cheered for the game from the stands. However, coincidentally, the Samsung Lions ended up losing at home, with Lee Ho-seong giving up a grand slam.
Sadly, Jang Dong-yoon has become the defeat fairy. However, in the released photos, he showcases flawless visuals. Thanks to Jang Dong-yoon, who suits the blue uniform better than anyone, the Samsung Lions fans even dubbed him as "the world's best-looking defeat fairy."
Meanwhile, Jang Dong-yoon is set to appear in the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama "The Mantis: Original Sin," which will premiere on Sept. 5.
This work is a high-density crime thriller where, more than 20 years after the brutal serial killer "Mantis" was caught, imitation crimes occur, and a detective who has hated the "Mantis"—his mother—unpredictably collaborates to solve the case. Director Byun Young-joo of "The Housemaid" and writer Lee Young-jong of "Spring in Seoul" have teamed up.
Jang Dong-yoon plays the detective Cha Soo-yeol, who will stop at nothing to end the killings. His partner, Go Hyun-jung, plays Jeong Yi-shin, the serial killer known as "Mantis," who has killed five men.
