On 'Radio Star,' Choi Hong-man showcases the 'Hong-man effect' where burgers become macarons.
Today (13th), the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' features a special segment called 'Handle with Care: Crazy People' with appearances from Cheon Jung-myung, Choi Hong-man, Lee Joo-seung, and Jo Kwon.
Recently, Choi Hong-man, who has been crowned 'Emperor of Memes' among teenage fans for his 'optical illusion GIFs,' properly displays the 'Hong-man effect' on 'Radio Star' that makes everything smaller.
First, Lee Joo-seung tries to lift a 13-liter water bottle with one hand but fails. Choi Hong-man, showing confidence, says, "I can only lift this in our country." He then demonstrates lifting and drinking from what looks like a 1.3-liter water bottle with one hand, surprising everyone.
Looking at a hamburger the size of Lee Joo-seung's face, Choi Hong-man says, "If I hold it, it becomes a macaron," while showing it off. The optical illusion makes the studio's MCs burst into laughter. MC Kim Gook-jin takes out his cellphone and hands it to Choi Hong-man, and when he holds it, it instantly appears to shrink to the size of a beeper, causing another round of astonished reactions in the studio.
When MC Kim Gook-ra asks about their shoe sizes in the hand size comparison between Choi Hong-man and Lee Joo-seung, he reveals he wears size 360 mm, stating that he can't find his size in Korea and has to shop abroad. In response, MC Kim Gook-jin exclaims, "My body would fit in that!" causing everyone to burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, a story emerges about how Choi Hong-man unintentionally surprised another celebrity due to his height. He recalled meeting actress Han Ye-seul when coming down to the first floor in an elevator at a gym. Since his face was obscured by the elevator door frame, Han Ye-seul was startled and exclaimed, "Oh my!" The MCs resonate with this, remembering Choi Hong-man's appearance in the studio, bursting into laughter. The show airs tonight at 10:30 p.m.
