Singer Psy (real name Park Jae-sang) will take the stage at the '80th Anniversary of Liberation Eve - Korea Lived!' on the 14th without receiving any grants.
The event's chief director, Tak Hyun-min, a planning advisor to the National Assembly Speaker, noted in a CBS Radio interview on 'Park Jae-hong's Victory Match' on the 12th, 'Since it's the eve of Liberation Day, I called Psy for the first time in three years,' and added, 'Since Psy hardly participates in other events and does not engage in any activities during his tour, I regretted calling him, thinking I might have placed an unnecessary burden on him.'
Tak said, 'After hanging up, I sent a long text saying, "You don't have to do what I asked. Don't take it to heart too much," and shortly after, I received a call from Psy,' adding, 'Psy said, "If you say that, I can't not do it," and promised to participate, saying he wouldn't even accept any grants, which left me feeling at a loss.'
Tak said, 'It's not like Psy is participating because of me and it's not a commercial event, but as the person who brought up (the performance), I felt very sorry and also grateful to Psy.'
The Liberation Day eve event will be held on the 14th at 8:15 p.m. in the National Assembly's central lawn. Psy, along with artists such as Kang San-e, Spider, Dynamic Duo, Mad Clown, Mate Ri X Kim Hyung-seok, 10CM, VIVIZ, Ali, Cloning Nut, and Paul Kim, will take the stage.
Meanwhile, Psy also took the stage without accepting any grants at the 70th Armed Forces Day commemorative event planned by Tak on October 1, 2018.
