Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun talked about the themes of downfall and paradise in the YouTube show "New Woman," which was released on the 12th. Lee Kyung-sil recalled her most challenging period and brought up her divorce situation. She said, "I thought my life was over at thirty-eight. It felt like everything was collapsing."
What made it even harder for Lee Kyung-sil were the rumors that circulated after her divorce. She said, "After my divorce, rumors surfaced that I had relationships with the entertainment representative and that I was buying luxury items with a corporate credit card given by the representative," adding, "I once broke down in tears to a reporter trying to verify the facts, saying, 'I never even received a points card from my ex-husband.'" Lee Kyung-sil also mentioned, "Still, I'm grateful they associated me with rich people," laughing it off and saying, "Mind your own business."
The rumors Jo Hye-ryun revealed were even more shocking. She said, "There were rumors that I was a prostitute," adding, "A friend heard that and went around clarifying, 'She is definitely not that kind of person.'" Jo Hye-ryun said, "Whenever I faced difficult times, I overcame them by studying languages or dedicating energy to something else," laughing coolly. Lee Kyung-sil added, "Jo Hye-ryun lives her life so busily that she doesn't pay much attention to what others say."
Jo Hye-ryun also honestly shared her humiliations when she moved to Japan during her prime to start anew as a newcomer, as well as her feelings of doubt as she achieved her long-desired challenge of performing in serious plays. In particular, she candidly confessed her regrets about leaving "Foolish Challenge," the predecessor to "Infinite Challenge."
Lee Kyung-sil said, "When faced with difficult situations, you shouldn't just dwell on the past. It's true that if you endure such hardships, good things follow," and added, "I want to praise myself for overcoming tough times without going astray." Jo Hye-ryun added, "I am grateful to my parents for allowing me to be someone who can bring smiles to others."
