MBN 'Unknown Legend - The Ranking War of Trot Men' (hereafter 'Unknown Legend') has appointed Jang Min-ho and Kim Dae-ho as main MCs, confirming its schedule for February 2026.
According to MBN on the 13th, Jang Min-ho and Kim Dae-ho have been selected as MCs for 'Unknown Legend'. They will accompany the 'Trot Men' as they transform from unknowns to legends. The teaser video for 'Unknown Legend', which was released simultaneously, depicted the meeting between Kim Dae-ho and the production team after his selection as MC, attracting considerable attention.
In the teaser video for 'Unknown Legend', Kim Dae-ho expressed that he will be taking on the role of audition MC for the first time and showed the confidence typical of a 'variety show trendsetter'. He stated that he wants to present in a style different from his seniors Jeon Hyun-moo, Kim Sung-joo, and Shin Dong-yup. Kim Dae-ho remarked, "I hope we can cry and laugh together," hinting at an emotional performance as an MC with a capital 'F'.
Additionally, as a past participant of the survival program 'New Employee', Kim Dae-ho did not hold back in offering candid advice as an audition senior. He heightened the tension by saying, "If you don't pour everything out from the first round, there will be no second chance." Then he looked straight ahead and urged participants in an excited tone, "Aren't you going to turn your life around? How long will you remain unknown?"
Jang Min-ho is determined to properly discover hidden talented singers. Having debuted as a member of the group 'UBIS' in 1997 and with nearly 24 years of experience in the unknown, he understands the sentiments of singers who are still striving for recognition better than anyone else. During a preliminary meeting, Jang Min-ho expressed, "The MC position for 'Unknown Legend' suits me perfectly. I am eager for it."
He added, "I want to find the raw diamonds and accompany them through the process of becoming gems. I hope 'Unknown Legend' becomes a new stage for opportunities," reiterating his commitment to unearthing talented individuals.
With Jang Min-ho and Kim Dae-ho confirmed as MCs, they share the common ground of having backgrounds in past survival programs, signaling that they are expected to take on pivotal roles in MBN's 'Unknown Legend'. Jang Min-ho, who participated in the popular audition program 'Mr. Trot' after a long journey of being unknown, is expected to provide a deep understanding of the participants' struggles and sorrows as an MC.
Kim Dae-ho also entered MBC as the 30th public recruitment announcer after being selected as one of the final three in the 2011 MBC announcer competition program 'Our Night - New Employee'. With 15 years of hosting experience, he is expected to lead the participants with sincere advice and encouragement based on his experience as a survival program senior, alongside Jang Min-ho.
As of the 15th, there have been numerous applicants for MBN's 'Unknown Legend', which is currently recruiting participants. Any man who loves trot can challenge themselves, and with the confirmation of the broadcast and the unveiling of the MCs, interest among trot fans has intensified. Consequently, the production team plans to conduct a second round of recruitment by October 10, fueled by the hot interest.
Meanwhile, MBN's 'Unknown Legend', which is set to change the landscape of trot in Korea, is slated for its first broadcast at the end of February next year.
