Production company Studio HIM has officially begun production on the youth musical film 'Nerd Rhapsody' and has unveiled a fresh and unique lineup of starring cast.
The film 'Nerd Rhapsody' (produced by Studio HIM and Energetic Company) is a coming-of-age story about a genius nerd pianist who challenges hip hop to win the heart of a new transfer student he fell in love with at first sight, featuring the music and love of art high school students as they find their own paths.
Director Park Jin-woo, known for his stylish direction in dramas 'To Jenni' and 'Dear.M,' is taking the helm of this new film, which is expected to pique further interest as it involves the production team from the melodrama 'Dear Hyeri.'
The leading actor, An Ji-ho, who has shown delicate performances in dramas 'It's Night' and 'Gyeongseong Creature,' will play the role of Yeom Dae-seong, a 'genius pianist' who swept across national competitions. The character's transformation and growth, living in solitude, will be portrayed deeply like a piano melody.
The role of Kwon Na-eun, a late transfer student and aspiring singer-songwriter who is the object of Yeom Dae-seong's unrequited love, has been cast to Baek Ji-heon of fromis_9. Baek Ji-heon is expected to showcase her passion and sincerity for music as she performs guitar and songs herself in the role.
The role of O Da-min, a confident and proud rapper from across the nation, will be played by actor Moon Sung-hyun, who will create a tense dynamic between Dae-seong and Na-eun, forming the axis of the narrative.
For the role of Dae-seong's younger sister, Min-ji, Woo Yeon of the girl group WOOAH has been cast. Min-ji, who has quick wits and a realistic sense, adds vitality to the drama with her 'realistic sibling' chemistry and cheerful energy.
Attention is drawn to the synergy created by the young rising star actors An Ji-ho and Moon Sung-hyun, alongside idol singer Baek Ji-heon and Woo Yeon, as they vividly depict youthful energy.
