Comedian Lee Jae-hoon's successful rural life has become a hot topic.
Recently, the YouTube channel 'Current Affairs Olympics' released a video titled 'Meeting Lee Jae-hoon, the cafe revamped from a spicy fish stew restaurant, a huge hit featuring a 'Gag Concert' comedian.' In the broadcast, Lee Jae-hoon revealed that he moved to Imsil, North Jeolla Province, for his daughter who was born 5 years ago as a premature baby weighing 890 grams after 7 months of pregnancy.
He remodeled the spicy fish stew restaurant that his mother-in-law had been operating into a cafe with a nature-friendly atmosphere. Lee Jae-hoon personally worked on the interior and exterior design as well as the construction.
The signature menu item is the red bean shaved ice 'pot shaved ice,' which actress Go Doo-shim also enjoyed, saying she wanted to take some red beans home. As word spread about this menu, customers began to flock to the cafe. Additionally, with live performances by famous singer impersonators, the cafe has established itself as a local attraction.
Lee Jae-hoon noted, "The cumulative number of visitors has exceeded 380,000. I count every morning to keep myself focused," adding, "I want to give a car as a prize to the 10 millionth customer."
He continued, "While income from entertainment activities can be inconsistent, it's nice to see the number of cafe visitors steadily increasing," expressing his satisfaction. In fact, he mentioned that he has included an item on the cafe's menu called 'Lee Jae-hoon Live' and sings up to 50 songs daily for guests.
Regarding the day with the highest sales, he revealed, "After calculating, I found that the profit was worth a mid-size used car," sharing his astonishing revenue. However, he added, "Of course, it's good that things are going well and that I'm making a lot of money, but I'm not just chasing money. In the past, I lived a passive life and followed others, but now I've become proactive. In fact, this is my stage," conveying his affection for the cafe. He also pointed out that one of the keys to successful management is ensuring that he leaves a personal impression on each guest.
Meanwhile, since debuting as a comedian with the 16th KBS open recruitment in 2001, Lee Jae-hoon has gained significant popularity with his Jeolla dialect comedy. He is currently running a cafe while also hosting 'Running Radio' on Jeonbuk Traffic Broadcasting, communicating with listeners.
