Im Seong-hun revealed the behind-the-scenes story of how he became a beloved national MC.
In the episode of tvN's entertainment show 'You Quiz on the Block' aired on the 13th, Im Seong-hun, celebrating his 50th anniversary of debut as a national MC, appeared.
Yoo Jae-seok noted, 'You have been active since the moment I started watching TV. How did you debut? Were you an announcer, or did you come from a selection competition?' Im Seong-hun, who denied both, stated, 'I am not an announcer by background.'
Im Seong-hun, a 1969 graduate of Yonsei University, said he experienced a significant turning point in his life when he became the cheerleader director. He recalled, 'I was contacted by a TBC producer when I was about to graduate after being the cheerleader director. They said they were gathering famous students like cheerleader directors and theater Directors General from each university to create a program for the youth. It was 'Silljagi Us-eo-ye.' To put it nicely, it was the original of the comedy program.'
He continued, 'I was cast because I was a cheerleader director. I worked hard. After about two months, they asked me if I would try being the MC of a new program, and that was 'Gayo Olympic.' At that time, I worked hard again. I was recognized as an MC in that program. After that, offers kept coming in, and here I am now.'
