The group SHINee member Key (affiliated with SME) has received high praise from the British music magazine NME for his 3rd regular album 'HUNTER.'
The renowned British music magazine NME published a review of Key's 3rd regular album 'HUNTER' on its official website on Nov. 11 (local time), titled 'An unconventional album where unfamiliarity and novelty coexist,' and awarded it a perfect score of 5 stars, stating, 'The dazzling production and experimental music merge to create the best album of Key's solo career.'
In particular, NME noted, 'This album showcases an astonishingly cohesive artistic vision both musically and visually. It feels as if Key's previous works, always synonymous with kitschy, sensory music with narrative, are unfolding before our eyes. It is the most interesting album released in Korea this year.'
Additionally, NME highlighted, 'Key has built a unique position by showcasing pop-style house and R&B genres infused with nostalgic retro elements in his own style. The tracks included in this album push this momentum into even more challenging territories,' focusing on the title track 'HUNTER' and the included songs.
Previously, Key proved the high interest of global music fans by recording a spot in the top 10 of the iTunes top album chart in 16 regions worldwide, and all 10 tracks ranked in the top 10 of Japan's AWA real-time rapid rise chart. This also led to NME's highest rating in their album review, reaffirming the hot response toward his new release.
Key will appear on the YouTube channel 'Hyo's Level Up' today (13th) at 6 p.m., where he will meet Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon. The two are longtime seniors and juniors and are regarded as representative 'entertainment idols' of SME. They are also featured together on the ENA talk show 'Salon de Doll: You Talk Too Much,' gaining attention for their candid and witty talk. Thus, it is expected that they will bring great laughter to viewers with their delightful chemistry.
Key will unveil the stage for his new song 'HUNTER' on the cable channel Mnet's 'M Countdown' tomorrow (14th).
