Broadcaster Lee Sugeun's wife, Park Jiyeon, shed tears in response to the support of acquaintances ahead of her kidney transplant surgery.
On the 13th, Park Jiyeon revealed several photos and videos on her social media account along with a statement that read, "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH."
In the photos and videos, Park Jiyeon is seen meeting with friends. After receiving a cake from her acquaintances, Park Jiyeon became emotional and eventually broke down in tears. Her acquaintances conveyed supportive messages such as "I hope you do well in surgery, Jiyeon," which brought her to tears.
Park Jiyeon suffered kidney damage due to complications from pregnancy-induced hypertension during her second pregnancy in 2011 and received a kidney transplant from her father. However, since the transplant did not settle well, she has undergone painful kidney dialysis treatment for over 10 years.
When Park Jiyeon was advised by medical staff to undergo a kidney transplant in 2021, she initially firmly rejected the idea due to the pain from her first surgery. However, she gradually changed her mind after being informed that advancements in technology and improvements in medication could enhance her quality of life, and she applied to wait for a donation from a brain-dead donor. Park Jiyeon has decided to receive a kidney transplant from her biological brother in mid-August.
Meanwhile, Lee Sugeun and Park Jiyeon have been married since 2008 and have two sons.
