Lee Chae-min is drawing attention by revealing the captivating points of his character, King Lee Heon, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'
The new tvN weekend drama 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty' (directed by Jang Tae-yu, written by fGRD, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Film Greeda, Jung Universe), which will air for the first time on August 23 (Saturday), is a romantic comedy drama that unfolds a story of a chef who time slips back to the best moments in the past and encounters the worst tyrant and a king with an absolute palate.
Young actor Lee Chae-min (as Lee Heon) is attracting attention as he challenges his first role as a king since his debut. Curiosity arises about why he was drawn to 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty,' and Lee Chae-min noted, "First of all, the theme of cooking really caught my interest, and I felt a charm in Lee Heon's multidimensional character. Also, since I have always liked works by director Jang Tae-yu, I wanted to be part of this project even more."
He introduced the character of Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min) by saying, "He seemed like a dynamic character that stirs up everything like an unapproachable storm. He has an unstable psychological state and a vigorous personality, yet he also has unexpected quirks." He added, "He has a rough side, like the spicy beef soup where meat and various ingredients blend together, but he is a multidimensional character with diverse aspects."
To portray this multifaceted character, Lee Chae-min revealed, "I tried to balance the heavy tone and the light tone so that the dignity and freedom that come from the position of a king can coexist. I offered many opinions about styling to make my intense gaze stand out and worked hard to create Lee Heon's unique form of expression that responds to the given situations."
Especially after the teaser video was released, reactions to Lee Chae-min's action acting have been ongoing. He said, "I learned horseback riding anew. I also trained in swordplay and archery on-site, collaborating with the martial arts team to enhance the quality of the action."
Finally, Lee Chae-min pointed out as a highlight of 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty' that it features "various attractions that traverse mystery and romance through the medium of cooking."
