Comedian Heo Anna underwent a revision surgery due to complications from rhinoplasty.
Heo Anna posted a video on her social account on the 12th, stating, "I have an important announcement. I'm having rhinoplasty tomorrow."
In the video, Heo Anna said, "I had my first nose surgery in 2004 using a material called Gore-Tex. At that time, it was a new material that could only be used in well-regarded hospitals. This material has a natural-looking bridge, but over time, the tissues become increasingly adhered, causing the tip of the nose to be pulled up, which is a side effect of this material. From about 6 or 7 years ago, my nostrils became more visible, and I started feeling a sense of constriction. As the tip of my nose is pulled up, what happens? If you look now, my nostrils are a bit like this. It started to look crooked."
She said, "In reality, it doesn't look that bad in person, but on screen, the nostrils are aligned diagonally, which bothers me. It has been on my mind. So, I decided to have rhinoplasty tomorrow. I consulted with several plastic surgeons, but since they had a lot of flashy styles, I felt those styles didn't suit me, and I was hesitant about the surgery. I just want a natural nose, and I found a hospital that meets that requirement. So, I made a reservation and paid a deposit."
She continued, "Actually, I dream of being an actress. So, I briefly thought about whether it would be right to come out about my nose surgery while dreaming of being an actress, but it's just not my character to deny that my nose has changed. Therefore, I thought it would be good to share information if there are people who have similar concerns or pursue a similar nose shape, so I hurriedly filmed the video the day before," adding, "I will bring the post-operative care instructions after the surgery. Please wish me well for a successful surgery."
In the video, Heo Anna said, "I'm having a revision rhinoplasty after 21 years. In 2004, at 21 years old, I had nose surgery without really knowing anything and have lived well since, right? But starting about 6 to 7 years ago, my nose started to lift, and I thought it might be constricted. I was in disbelief... A close junior of mine met me after a year, and the first thing he said wasn't a greeting, but rather, 'Hey! What's wrong with your nose???' Hearing that made me realize, 'Ah! My nose is indeed becoming constricted!' I felt really upset. I appear on screen every week, and my nose is getting more and more crooked."
She said, "So I started looking for famous hospitals everywhere, but back then, flashy noses were in trend, so I felt it wouldn't suit me and that my image would drastically change, so I decided against the surgery. However, a while ago, a junior of mine got a natural-looking nose, and I thought, 'Wow!!! I should at least have a consultation!' So, I quickly made an appointment! They said they could slightly lower the overly sharp nose and correct the asymmetrical nostrils, so I paid a deposit that day!"
Especially, Heo Anna said, "I'm not asking for much. I just want it to look natural. Is that the hardest part??? Anyway, I scheduled the surgery date before the constriction worsened!!! It has already been 5 days since the surgery! I wanted to upload the video earlier, but it was much more painful than I thought, so I'm finally able to upload it step by step!"
Afterward, she directly answered questions related to cosmetic surgery in a Q&A. When asked, "I also had surgery with Gore-Tex, but is there adhesion? Is it hard to have a revision surgery?" she replied, "If you go to a good doctor, it's difficult, but they can remove it well. I was also scared and waited 20 years to do it." When asked, "Are you okay now?" she replied, "It was really hard," sharing a recent photo where her swelling had not gone down. When asked, "Is rhinoplasty really painful?" she said, "The first surgery might be less painful, but revision surgery and autologous rib surgery really hurt," adding, "I even caught a cold, and I went through hell due to coughing! Autologous rib surgery is really the worst," expressing her pain, "Honestly, I've had leg surgery, uterine fibroid surgery, and thyroid removal surgery, but this one is the worst (in terms of pain)."
