In 'Walking On Thin Ice,' Lee Young-ae, Kim Young-kwang, and Park Yong-woo become entwined over a stolen bag, plunging into a whirlwind of unpredictable fate.
Set to premiere on Sept. 20, the new KBS 2TV weekend miniseries 'Walking On Thin Ice' (directed by Song Hyun-wook / written by Jeon Young-shin / produced by Badam Pictures and Slingshot Studio) portrays the dangerous and desperate diary of a partnership formed by Kang Eun-soo, a parent wanting to protect her family, and Lee Kyung, a two-faced teacher, who accidentally acquires a drug bag. 'Walking On Thin Ice' is expected to be a well-made piece, perfectly blending romance, thriller, and action, thanks to the collaboration between director Song Hyun-wook, who masterfully handles varied genres, and writer Jeon Young-shin, known for her dense narrative and realism.
In the drama, Lee Young-ae plays Kang Eun-soo, who jumps from being an ordinary housewife into a world of taboos, while Kim Young-kwang takes on the role of Lee Kyung, a popular after-school art instructor during the day but a concealed drug dealer at night. Park Yong-woo passionately portrays Jang Tae-goo, the head of the team pursuing the drug trafficking organization 'Phantom.'
The still released today, the 13th, captures extreme moments of Kang Eun-soo (played by Lee Young-ae), Lee Kyung (played by Kim Young-kwang), and Jang Tae-goo (played by Park Yong-woo), each placed in different situations within the same space.
As Eun-soo faces her husband's worsening illness and an economic crisis, she discovers drugs in a bag someone left at her home, ultimately plunging into the world of taboos to protect her family. Struggling to meet a drug dealer, she unexpectedly encounters her daughter's after-school art instructor, Lee Kyung, in an unforeseen location.
Meanwhile, Tae-goo, who is chasing after the whereabouts of the lost drug bag belonging to 'Phantom,' bursts into the club where Lee Kyung is, leading the three characters' fates into the calm before the storm. It raises curiosity about where their intertwined relationships will lead and what truth they will eventually face.
The production team stated, "The relationship between Eun-soo, Lee Kyung, and Tae-goo, each with different goals, is not simply one of pursuit and being pursued, but intricately woven with each person's survival, desires, and secrets that must never be revealed, leading them into a whirlwind where nothing can be predicted. We hope the intense acting created by the three actors elevates the drama's immersion, so please look forward to it."
