Actors Lim Yoona and Ahn Bo-hyun have launched a promotional campaign as fairies for the movie "Pretty Crazy."
On the 13th, Lim Yoona and Ahn Bo-hyun, the lead actors in "Pretty Crazy," appeared as guests on SBS Power FM's "Juhyun Young at 12."
"Pretty Crazy" is a comedy about the struggles of a young unemployed man, Gil-gu (Ahn Bo-hyun), who gets involved in an unusual part-time job monitoring a fortune teller who wakes up as a demon every dawn.
Lim Yoona introduced her character, saying, "She runs an ordinary bakery during the day but wakes up as a higher-level demon at dawn." In response, Juhyun Young mentioned Seong Dong-il, who plays the father of the fortune teller, asking, "I heard there's talk of adding Seong Dong-il senior's lineage to this," to which Ahn Bo-hyun and Lim Yoona nodded, saying, "That's right."
Ahn Bo-hyun expressed feeling that he was acting separately from the two characters, stating, "The 'day fortune teller' has the innocent and quiet demeanor of an I personality, while the 'night fortune teller' has the unpredictable energy of someone who's had about two bottles of makgeolli and an E personality." Lim Yoona added, "I wondered if I've ever used such expressive acting before. The director even gave feedback asking, 'Is it okay to go this far?' At first, I felt shy and wondered if it would be alright, but I thought it was one way to express the character of the fortune teller, so I got deeply immersed and was able to express it freely."
In particular, Lim Yoona, through "Pretty Crazy," has reunited with director Lee Sang-geun and the production team from "Exit" after six years. She said, "I was very grateful for the opportunity to team up again. I have great memories from 'Exit,' and I thought that if it was director Lee, we could create an interesting film together. The script was very bizarre and funny, so even just reading it felt like a good choice, but I was eager to see how director Lee would bring it to life. I was able to confidently make the choice. It didn't take long to decide."
DJ Juhyun Young also expressed agreement, stating, "As soon as I saw the script, I thought I absolutely wanted to take part. While reading it, I thought, 'If not me, then who? I have to do this.' The script was that interesting," he said. "The director mentioned that 'we pursue harmless laughter rooted in empathy,'" and Ahn Bo-hyun added, "That's right. The laughter feels so natural, but there are hidden meanings within it."
Lim Yoona noted, "The director seems to skillfully incorporate emotions and scenes we've experienced in our surroundings, effectively conveying people's stories. You might find yourself laughing harmlessly, feeling deeply empathetic, and getting lost in the characters' emotions, leading to a film that leaves a lingering impact." Juhyun Young added, "Watching the film during the briefing made me hold back tears a few times. Despite the emotional depth, love for family, and affection present in the film, there were parts that touched me. Please look forward to it."
On another note, Juhyun Young described Ahn Bo-hyun by saying, "He really seems like Gil-gu. Honestly, the charm he has shown thus far is different, and he even displays that charm in the movie." She also shared, "I was scared when I first met Bo-hyun, but after filming, whether he transformed into Gil-gu or if that charm was already there, he became very warm and friendly."
When asked about the charm she will show in the film, Lim Yoona confidently replied, "To be honest, I think I'm a bundle of charm myself. If you watch 'Pretty Crazy,' I believe you will see my various sides. If I had to mention just one, it would be the adorableness. If you fall in love with the fortune teller's charming qualities, it will enhance your enjoyment of the movie."
Ahn Bo-hyun shared a particularly happy moment during filming, saying, "There was an emotional ending scene where I had to keep from crying. Although that scene was not used, I was filming a scene while sobbing. At that moment, I realized I had really immersed myself emotionally, and many people commented that I seemed really like Gil-gu, which has stuck with me."
Lim Yoona expressed pride, saying, "Since there are many scenes requiring bold expressions for my character, I felt really good seeing the staff members enjoying themselves and laughing when I performed. It made me feel like my acting was truly appreciated and enjoyable."
Lastly, Lim Yoona noted, "It was really fun to greet alongside my co-star Juhyun Young on the radio, coinciding with the release today. 'Pretty Crazy' was released today. Although it features a demon, it's not a scary demon at all, but a cute one, so it's a movie that families can enjoy together. Even though it's raining heavily, please be careful and enjoy watching it comfortably."
Ahn Bo-hyun encouraged viewers by saying, "Our movie is perfect for a rainy day. Since it just opened today, I've seen it twice already, and it's a healing and heartwarming film, so it would be great to watch with family or loved ones." Juhyun Young also added, "You can watch it comfortably. We all need laughter these days, so come with a light heart and expect to be moved. There's a surprise twist in the latter part, so please come see it."
