Broadcaster Kim Je-dong is making a comeback. Starting in September, he will meet with audiences every Saturday through the Kim Je-dong talk concert 'Saturday, THE Kim Je-dong'.
After starting in March and continuing until June, the Kim Je-dong talk concert and encore performances sold out every show, and Kim Je-dong successfully held his solo concert for the first time in three years. This fall, he returns as the man of Saturday with more relaxed and cheerful stories.
Even after wrapping up the encore performances, requests for additional shows continued, with emotional feedback such as 'a refreshing performance', 'forgotten all worries and came back with laughter, enjoyable time', and 'thankful and precious moments flowing with the heart'. In response, he decided to hold performances every Saturday throughout September.
The Kim Je-dong talk concert 'Saturday, THE Kim Je-dong' is a performance that enhances the charm of an intimate yet warm theater production where the audience can sit closely together in a semi-circular seating arrangement and share stories. The H-STAGE in front of Hongdae, where the series of performances will take place three times in a row, is also a venue that receives strong audience response and satisfaction.
Additionally, the poster released with the concert news features Kim Je-dong in training clothes. This look, which seems familiar to some, is expected to bring both delight and joy to the audiences who have been waiting for the concert. Ticket sales will begin at 2 p.m. on the 13th.
At a press conference for KBS 'Tonight with Kim Je-dong' held in September 2018, Kim Je-dong discussed returning to his former broadcasting home of KBS after 10 years, saying, "Rather than a comeback, it's just that I wasn't invited for a while, and I came back when I was. I didn't think of it as a comeback. It's about meeting each other's needs, and the invitation is solely at the discretion of the production team. It's not so much a return as it is a long-awaited return. Since I debuted through KBS, it brings back a lot of memories. That's about it," he calmly noted.
When asked if he thinks a blacklist exists, he responded, "Whether it exists or not is being judged by the courts. It's not something I can comment on. If someone wrote it, it's right to ask that person. I have no way of knowing whether my name is on it or not."
In 2024, during a press conference for his essay, he addressed the term 'icon of current status', stating, "If it's about current status, it's about going to see the kids and cooking at home," further stating, "Housekeeping never gives you a break. If you do it, it doesn't show, and if you don't do it, it becomes apparent. That drives a person crazy." He also mentioned, "I traveled to India and the Philippines and, in between, had some romances."
