ASTRO members JinJin and MJ shared their feelings regarding their solo concert held after three years.
On the 4th, an interview was held to commemorate the release of the debut album "DICE" by the new ASTRO unit Junijini at the Fantagio headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul. Junijini is a new unit composed of ASTRO members MJ and JinJin, a name that combines MJ (real name Kim Myung-jun) and JinJin (real name Park Jin-woo).
Before unveiling their new unit Junijini, MJ and JinJin held an ASTRO solo concert titled "The 4th ASTROAD-STARGRAPHY" at the Incheon Inspire Arena on June 7 and 8.
At this ASTRO solo concert, the group showcased the stage with member Rocky, who had left the team. This caused some dissent among portions of the ASTRO fandom.
In this regard, JinJin stated, "In fact, Rocky only participated in this project after leaving. You might be curious why we called him back; for this concert, I thought of it as a concert for Bin. I hope the fans remember Bin for a long time, and we had discussions with Eun-woo in the spirit of reminding everyone of the times we had together."
He continued, "If we remove Rocky, I think we won't be able to show a group of six again. It's not because our relationship has soured; when I called him and brought it up, Rocky was grateful. This was a concert that everyone worked on for Bin."
JinJin said, "Working on this project made me reflect on ourselves again, and I felt Bin's absence greatly. It seems like the five of us united for Bin because of that alone." He emphasized that the concert was solely for the late Moon Bin, despite being aware of the noisy public opinion.
As I listened to the two of them, I felt a deep affection for the members. When asked what ASTRO meant to each other, MJ expressed, "I would describe them as my front teeth. Without the front teeth, you can't smile or speak, and it's a vital area of the body. The same goes for JinJin, Sanha, and Eun-woo; they are equally precious to me. Thanks to the members, we were able to perform at stadiums and hold concerts. I feel a great sense of gratitude and always think I must work hard. They are indispensable beings."
JinJin remarked, "I have been living as a leader for 10 years since my debut, including the trainee period, and what I am most grateful for is the (members') humility. We could unite because everyone is humble without flaws. I think we can receive love without hearing unpleasant comments." He added, "What I hear from the people around me or my acquaintances is that they enjoyed meeting (the ASTRO) members. Hearing such comments fills me with pride as a member and a leader, similar to how a parent feels for their child. So when I go out and come home, I feel at ease, as if I belong when we gather for group activities. "
What will ASTRO leader JinJin think their appearance will be in 10 years? JinJin responded, "When I was asked what I thought we would look like 10 years after our debut, the meaning leaned heavily on just wanting to be together until then. Now that 10 years have passed, I think it's not that significant, like graduating from school."
He added, "I have a strong desire to be together again after 10 years from now. I hope we can each secure our respective places and generate synergy together without any desires."
Finally, Junijini pointed out the highlights of this unit activity, saying, "Personally, it's 'a choreography that anyone can follow.' It would be great if you could observe how we have fun on stage. There are genuine expressions that come out on stage. I hope it blends in because I believe that the sincerity with which we sing is reflected." He also expressed gratitude, saying, "I would appreciate it if you could take a closer look at us and show interest in us through the catchy melody and easy choreography."
