"Now is the time to be rude," said Kang Hyung-wook as he presented a firm solution in front of the Kimje case dog.
In the second episode of Channel A's "Time of Dogs and Wolves," which aired on Dec. 12, a visiting solution was conducted for the "Kimje case dog" that displayed ownership aggression, and the story of the "Jamsil gangster dog" Wolf No. 3, which changes when it sees other dogs, was revealed.
Kang Hyung-wook assigned the Kimje case dog's family the homework of "no treats or physical contact, and remove the food bowl." When Jo Yoon-hee saw that the room structure remained unchanged, she asked, "What could have happened?" to which Kim Seong-joo replied, "There is either a reason, or it is ignoring us," cutting in. The guardian explained that after removing the food bowl, the Kimje case dog began to guard its excrement, leading to a restoration.
In the "TES test," the Kimje case dog guarded its food and did not let go of the training hand. Observing this, Kang Hyung-wook suspected "acquired ownership aggression" and demonstrated the process of driving the dog out of the space occupied by the Kimje case dog. The first step was successful, but the rest was up to the guardian. Kang Hyung-wook advised the emotionally sensitive mother guardian to "hide her feelings and be brazen" and ordered her to change her attitude.
Next, Wolf No. 3 appeared as a fighter that changes its gaze the moment it sees another dog. Every time it went out, it raised aggressive barking, making those around it tense, and even the affectionate guardian couldn't help but become rough in their words and actions. Observing this, Kim Seong-joo empathized with the guardian's behavior, saying, "The kid is rough, right? The mother also needs to become a half-gangster."
However, the observation camera showed a different story. A 6-month-old baby lived in this house. Once the baby was born, all the attention that had been directed towards Wolf No. 3 shifted to the baby. Wolf No. 3 waited for the mother all day, but the exhausted mother had no capacity to take care of her dog. Seeing Wolf No. 3's lonely appearance, Kim Seong-joo expressed sympathy, saying, "I have become on Wolf No. 3's side."
Contrary to Kang Hyung-wook's expectation that it would be easily corrected, he paused for a moment when Wolf No. 3 did not stop barking even when the guardian disappeared from view during the on-site solution. Curiosity increased about what variables were hiding behind this behavior of Wolf No. 3.
"Time of Dogs and Wolves" is a reality solution program that looks into not only the problematic behaviors of companion dogs but also the attitudes and environments of their guardians. The first season features French Bulldogs Wolf No. 1 through No. 3, each with different stories and personalities, showing various changes in each episode.
Meanwhile, "Time of Dogs and Wolves," featuring Kim Seong-joo, Kang Hyung-wook, and special MC Jo Yoon-hee from the first season, airs every Tuesday at 9:20 p.m. on Channel A.
