Jang Da-Ah will come as a 'youth top star' rivaling her younger sister Jang Won-Young.
On the 13th, the agency King Kong by Starship released several behind-the-scenes stills from the poster shoot of Jang Da-Ah, who appears as 'Lim Se-Ra' in the Genie TV original drama 'My Troublesome Star' (directed by Choi Young-Hoon, written by Park Ji-Ha, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Jumbo Film).
'My Troublesome Star' is a romantic comedy filled with tears and laughter that unfolds after Korea's top star suddenly becomes an ordinary middle-aged woman. In it, Jang Da-Ah plays 'Lim Se-Ra,' the 'nation's goddess' top star from 25 years ago. She is set to depict the youthful and thrilling past of Bong Cheong-Ja (played by Uhm Jung-Hwa), conveying a vibrant story of youth.
In the released photos, Jang Da-Ah, holding a trophy, exudes confidence, capturing the attention of viewers. Furthermore, she completes the visuals of Se-Ra during her prime with her wavy hairstyle, pink-toned outfit, and glamorous accessories. In another photo, Jang Da-Ah is engaged in content filming with a bright smile, suggesting a joyful atmosphere on set. Reportedly, she radiated bright energy throughout the shoot, adding vitality to the filming.
Previously, Jang Da-Ah garnered enthusiastic responses for her portrayal of a villain crossing between good and evil as 'Baek Ha-Rin' in the Tving original series 'Pyramid Game.' Now, through 'My Troublesome Star,' she is anticipated to showcase a transformation in her acting. Particularly, in the recently released main trailer, Jang Da-Ah perfectly embodies the style of 1999, compellingly conveying Se-Ra's status as a top star at that time with a gesture of flipping her hair. There is much attention on how Jang Da-Ah will present herself in 'My Troublesome Star.'
Meanwhile, the Genie TV original drama 'My Troublesome Star', featuring Jang Da-Ah, Uhm Jung-Hwa, Song Seung-Heon, Lee El, and Oh Dae-Hwan, will premiere on August 18 (Monday) at 10 p.m. on the ENA channel, with exclusive free VOD available right after the live broadcast on KT Genie TV every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. It is available on OTT through Tving.
