Actress and writer Jeong Eun-hye revealed her process of writing a statement to adopt her stepfather's surname.
On the 12th, a video titled "From adopting a cat to writing a statement and sharing thoughts on married life, there is so much to say about our newlywed afternoon life" was posted on Jeong Eun-hye's YouTube channel *'Ni-eol-goo_ Eun-hye Eun hye'*.
In the video, Jeong Eun-hye's father mentioned, "You have to write a statement to truly become my real dad. My son-in-law isn't my son-in-law yet," referencing the adoption process. To this, Jeong Eun-hye replied, "I should think and write on my own."
When her younger sibling asked, "How do you feel if the surname changes?" Jeong Eun-hye said, "If you are Seo Eun-baek, it would be much better for me to change to Seo Eun-hye. Because I would have a true biological brother and father." She also stated her ideal type is someone who is "good at communicating, fun, and definitely kind," adding that when she combined those traits, it resulted in "dad."
Jeong Eun-hye then wrote her own statement. She wrote, "I had a biological father. He remarried as he did not get along with my mother. After parting ways with my dad, we lost contact. One day, he did not come to see me," and added, "The real biological father is Seo Dong-il. I also have a husband. I am living happily. Please accept my dad, Seo Dong-il, through adoption. I want to live like this happily."
Earlier, on the 11th, Jeong Eun-hye expressed on SBS *'Dongsang Imong 2 - You Are My Destiny'* that she wants to change her surname by re-registering her marriage, stating her desire to follow her adoptive father's surname. Her mother explained, "I thought it was wrong for adults to decide custody when Eun-hye was young," adding, "It was okay to change it later, so we decided to wait and see."
Jeong Eun-hye married Cho Young-nam, a person with developmental disabilities, in May and is currently enjoying her married life. The couple met through public jobs for people with developmental disabilities and dated for a year before tying the knot, sharing their marriage life through SBS *'Dongsang Imong 2'* and receiving much support.
