Jeong Eun-hye and Jo Young-nam opened up about their plans for a second child.
In the 11th episode of SBS's "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny" (hereinafter referred to as Same Bed, Different Dreams 2), the newlywed life of Down syndrome artist Jeong Eun-hye and Jo Young-nam was revealed.
Jeong Eun-hye's mother asked the couple, "(Earlier) you were talking about pregnancy?" regarding their plans for a second child. Jeong Eun-hye frequently asked Jo Young-nam, "Do you want to have a baby?" and "Do you want to give birth?"
Jeong Eun-hye cautiously mentioned in front of her family, "When I see my niece, (she's so cute)." After receiving Jeong Eun-hye's question, Jo Young-nam hesitated to respond.
Jeong Eun-hye's mother expressed her frustration by asking, "Can you raise a child well? Are you confident?" Jeong Eun-hye's younger sibling said it was inappropriate for the family to discuss the couple's issues, and Jeong Eun-hye's mother coldly stated, "If we have a child, it becomes our responsibility. It paints a predictable future. We will die first, and then Eun-baek will have to carry on. It's not an easy issue."
She emphasized once again to Jo Young-nam, "Even if the two of you have a baby, it's a structure where it's difficult to raise it completely." Jeong Eun-hye cautiously said, "But you are the one who says we should have a baby. You say a child is good. I'm not sure."
Jo Young-nam, hesitating, said, "I can understand my mother-in-law's feelings. If the child is born with a disability, I can't just leave it to my mother-in-law, right? If it's born with a disability, given our age and my mother-in-law's age, we will have to go to the hospital, and I would feel sorry for my brother-in-law and my father-in-law."
Jo Young-nam stated, "I am also a person with a disability, and I worry if my child is born with a disability. How do we educate them? There are many difficulties. If we have a child, people will tease us. Why were they born with a disability?" This left everyone astonished.
