Coupang Play will present a new concept sports show specializing in soccer, the first of its kind in the South Korean OTT industry, by live streaming it.
Set to premiere at 10 p.m. on the 22nd, the Coupang Play sports show 'Kup Show' is an original content planned, produced, and broadcasted by Coupang Play, featuring soccer experts and various guests who will combine match analysis, in-depth discussions, and entertainment elements into a new format of live soccer show. It will be aired every Monday and Friday at 10 p.m., with Monday episodes focused on previews of the upcoming matches scheduled for that week.
Fans can dive into the exciting and thorough coverage of this week's big matches available on Coupang Play, including those from the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the K League, and South Korea's national team games, through 'Kup Show.' With sharp analysis from experts and engaging discussions, it aims to offer soccer fans a new way to experience sports by revisiting moments they may have missed during the matches or behind-the-scenes stories.
The show will be hosted by Baek Seung-jae, the icon of South Korean soccer broadcasting. With nearly two decades of experience broadcasting national team A matches, the K League, and overseas soccer, he leads in-depth analysis unique to 'Kup Show' with his characteristic wit and extensive on-site experience. Commentators Jang Ji-hyun and Lim Hyung-cheol, along with Oh Ha-young from A Pink, will also contribute, providing authoritative talks and highlighting hidden viewing points. In particular, the 'Hot Match Preview' segment allows the Coupang Play broadcast team to predict outcomes of each match, which continues into a 'Best Soccer Expert' award ceremony at the season's end, adding a competitive and unique fun dynamic among the participants.
Various perspectives and creative planning segments will enhance the unique enjoyment of 'Kup Show.' Lee Yong-joo from Pisik University will depict soccer issues through the eyes of a non-expert in 'Pisik News,' while the girl group idol's soccer challenges in 'Ballon Dol' and the witty soccer satire delivered by AI in 'Kup Show!ts' will fill 'Kup Show' with content that soccer fans cannot miss.
A Coupang Play official noted, "'Kup Show' is the content that any soccer fan has been waiting for," adding, "It includes new attempts to enjoy soccer from various perspectives beyond simple match analysis. We aim to simultaneously provide entertainment and information to viewers every week through Coupang Play."
Meanwhile, the teaser video released during the preview show for two matches of the '2025 Coupang Play Series' on the 3rd has already received enthusiastic responses from fans.
