Actor Kang Ji-seob expressed his unjust feelings regarding the JMS controversy.
In the MBN program 'Oh Eun-young Stay' aired on the 11th, Kang Ji-seob, who was embroiled in the controversy surrounding the JMS (Christian Gospel Mission) believers, grants.
Kang Ji-seob said about JMS, "There were strange points. First of all, they don't let you worship. There are about thirty types of education, and you have to attend those to be able to worship. They sing hymns weirdly, putting trot lyrics to them. Nevertheless, the reason I attended was that the people were so pure and nice. There were many elites and good universities. Instead of suspicion, I thought, 'There are people like this.'" He explained the situation at the time.
Later, although Kang Ji-seob did not attend the religion since the COVID-19 pandemic, the controversy erupted in conjunction with the release of the Netflix documentary 'I Am God.' He said, "Even my agency's representative told me to wear a sign saying 'not true.' There's no one in this world to believe. After the controversy, all my acquaintances and connections were severed. Every time I wake up, I feel fear. My heart drops, and I wonder why I have to hear such baseless speculations. Am I not supposed to exist in this world? I even had thoughts like that."
Kang Ji-seob added, "My sister and mother were very worried. They were afraid I would have bad thoughts. My ignorance was my sin."
Despite having clarified the situation after the controversy, Kang Ji-seob said, "Even though I said I wasn't guilty, it was all useless. I should have torn up the frame and burned it, but it was made of a material that doesn't tear. That made it even more controversial. They claimed it was a lie. I just shut my mouth."
Oh Eun-young advised, "You must say what isn't true is not true," and Kang Ji-seob replied, "I sincerely hope that there won't be any victims like me," tearing apart the stigma that had bound him.
