Singer Jo Jae-joo recalled the moment he met his wife.
On the 12th, singer Jo Jae-joo appeared on the 'Tuesday Invitation' segment of KBS1's 'Morning Yard,' sharing various stories and reflecting on his musical life.
The first photo in the series showcasing Jo Jae-joo's ever-changing life flaunted a unique sense of fashion. Having majored in fashion design, Jo Jae-joo explained, "Since I was young, I liked dressing up and was very interested in fashion, so I wanted to become a show director. I was a typical arts and physical education person. After serving in the military, I applied for 'Superstar K' and made it to the finals, but since it didn't lead to good results, I thought it wasn't my path and lived my 20s that way.
Continuing, Jo Jae-joo, who revealed photos of his ongoing interior work, explained, "Around age 29, I wanted to do global show directing and prepared to study abroad in the U.S., but after facing fraud within my family, I began to reflect on myself and thought I needed to help my parents, which made me give up. I minored in interior design in college and chose interior design because I liked the field and wanted to do things I enjoy.
In the third photo, a new chapter of Jo Jae-joo's life unfolded. Sharing a photo of himself as a DJ, Jo Jae-joo said, "It's a café and bar in Hannam-dong. Even after my debut, I was referred to as 'Bar owner Jo Jae-joo,' and I naturally cook and serve drinks as well." He added, "I went to Yangyang to help someone with construction work, and when I saw a pretty truck, I asked if I could try something fun, and it felt like I found my calling. After receiving positive feedback that it would be great to do it in Seoul, I decided to open here." He continued, "I wanted to sing so badly that I began to sing. It's the space I created for that purpose. I started in a semi-basement in Itaewon and suffered flood damage. The building owner returned my money, so I moved to Hannam-dong to start anew.
Jo Jae-joo also cited his fateful encounter with his wife as a turning point in his life. Jo Jae-joo said, "After moving to Hannam-dong, I met my wife as a customer at the store. On a day of a performance, I wore a trench coat, and there were only beautiful women at the store. Feeling good, I had a drink and naturally approached the front, but as I did, my coat came undone, and my belly was sticking out, so my wife raised her hand. I think that was high-level flirting. It wasn't me who confessed first; it was my wife who approached me first." He added, "It wasn't easy opening the store during COVID, and when I was contemplating whether to move, my wife supported me, saying let's try for just one more year, and shortly thereafter, a miraculous moment came.
