Jo Yeo-jung explained why she chose "Killer Report."
On the 12th, a production briefing for the movie "Killer Report" took place at Seoul's CGV Yongsan I Park Mall. The event was attended by actors Jo Yeo-jung, Jeong Seong-il, and director Jo Young-jun.
The movie "Killer Report" (directed by Jo Young-jun, provided by A2Z Entertainment and Sony Pictures International Productions, produced by With Ace Studio, MIKE Studio, and Pluto Story Group, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Korea and A2Z Entertainment) centers around a veteran reporter Sun-joo (Jo Yeo-jung), who is eager for exclusive stories and receives a request for a one-on-one interview with serial killer Young-hoon (Jeong Seong-il), leading to a dangerous situation.
Jo Yeo-jung plays Baek Sun-joo, a veteran reporter desperate for exclusives who participates in a dangerous interview after receiving a one-on-one interview proposal from serial killer Young-hoon.
Regarding her participation in the project, Jo Yeo-jung said, "It was a film with a format I had never seen before. The movie could be entirely composed of a 1:1 interview. Also, I was amazed that two hours were filled with considerable tension. The screenplay itself was incredibly immersive, and that scared me. I wondered if I could really pull this off. It felt like there was nowhere to hide."
She continued, "So I pondered quite a bit. In the end, when they offered me the script, I thought about what they had seen and believed in me to give it to me. I wanted to trust that belief." She added, "I worked briefly with Jeong Seong-il in a drama, and I had a very good impression of him. I thought if Seong-il was in it, I could trust and rely on him. Indeed, that was the case. I really depended on him during filming, and I felt it was good that I challenged myself."
She also shared her acting struggles, saying, "In the evening, when I go back to my accommodations to sleep, my forehead muscles hurt so much. At the beginning of filming, I thought, 'My forehead really hurts.' I realized just how much I was focused on this project. It made me nervous, wondering if I could keep doing this."
