Robin Williams, who passed away suddenly, marks the 11th anniversary of his death.
It has been 11 years since the legendary Hollywood actor and comedian Robin Williams left this world. He remains a symbol of 'laughter' and 'inspiration' in the hearts of fans.
Robin Williams was found dead at his home in California, United States, on the morning of Aug. 12, 2014, at the age of 63.
Police and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene around noon, but his breathing had already stopped. Suffering from Lewy Body Dementia, a brain disease, and depression caused by it, Williams took his own life at the age of 63 at his home in San Francisco, United States.
Williams began his career as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the 1970s, gaining nationwide popularity by playing the quirky alien Mork in the sitcom 'Mork & Mindy.' He later showcased his wide-ranging acting spectrum by transitioning between comedy and drama, as seen in films such as 'Good Morning, Vietnam' (1987), where he played the rebellious military DJ Adrian Cronauer, 'Dead Poets Society' (1989) as John Keating, a teacher who taught poetry and freedom, 'Hook' (1991) as the grown-up Peter Pan, the Genie in 'Aladdin' (1992), and as the disguised father in 'Mrs. Doubtfire' (1993).
In 1998, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Sean Maguire, a therapist healing a troubled young man in 'Good Will Hunting.' In the 2000s, he left a strong impression by embodying dark characters such as a serial killer in 'Insomnia' (2002) and an obsessive photographer in 'One Hour Photo' (2002).
His humor and energy shone in 'Jumanji' (1995), 'The Birdcage' (1996), and the 'Night at the Museum' series (2006-2014). In particular, many fellow actors recalled that his presence was the core of the作品one of his last works, 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.'
Notably, in 'Dead Poets Society,' he played the teacher John Keating, who inspired students to pursue their dreams by emphasizing 'carpe diem (seize the day)' and led them to change their lives.
His daughter, Zelda Williams, inherits her father's talent and creativity, continuing his artistic legacy with her feature directorial debut, 'Lisa Frankenstein,' in 2024.
Even as time passes, Robin Williams is still remembered as 'someone's heart's Peter Pan' and an actor who gifted 'warm tears behind laughter.'
