Actress Cha Joo-young has revealed that she has teamed up with Professor Seo Kyung-deok of Sungshin Women's University to participate as a docent in the special exhibition 'Jewels of Anti-Japanese Heritage' in celebration of the 80th anniversary of liberation.
Visitors will hear explanations of major exhibits in Cha Joo-young's voice at the special exhibition hosted by the Korea Heritage Service, which will be held from the 12th to October 12 at Deoksugung Palace's Dongdeokjeon.
She provided explanations about various exhibits, including the writings of An Jung-geun, documents related to the anti-Japanese military, the Korean flag from Jingwansa, the Malmoe manuscript, missile logs, and the signed Korean flag of Kim Gu, among others. Visitors can scan the QR code next to the name card of the exhibits to access the information.
Professor Seo, who planned this event, noted, "Last week, we created a multilingual video to promote cultural heritage related to the anti-Japanese independence movement both domestically and abroad, which was released first."
He added, "I wanted to introduce the exhibits with the voice of a familiar celebrity to help visitors better understand anti-Japanese history."
In response, Cha Joo-young said, "I hope that many visitors will watch the video first, visit the special exhibition, and make good use of the docent explanations."
Meanwhile, the Korea Heritage Service and Professor Seo Kyung-deok are planning to release another multilingual video regarding anti-Japanese cultural heritage in September.
