Could the son of Kim Hak-rae and Lim Mi-sook, known as 'the lovebird of Joseon,' develop from meeting a prospective bride to a romantic relationship?
In the TV Chosun entertainment program 'The Lovebird of Joseon' broadcast on 11th in the afternoon, the couple Kim Hak-rae and Lim Mi-sook met their son Kim Dong-young and his prospective bride Kim Yae-eun.
Kim Hak-rae and Lim Mi-sook celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary and headed to the meeting place after receiving an invitation from their son Kim Dong-young and his prospective bride.
Lim Mi-sook met her future daughter-in-law and asked, "I wonder if you have opened your heart to date," to which Kim Yae-eun replied, "It seems like my brother is still not certain about that." In response, Lim Mi-sook angrily said, "Kill me for this," and Kim Hak-rae chimed in, "That kid is quite picky."
Kim Yae-eun said, "I have been gaining positive feelings, but because we both don't have any certainty, our emotions are at a standstill. I don't think we are completely open to becoming a couple." Lim Mi-sook, not giving up, encouraged her, saying, "Yae-eun, if possible, meet and spend time together comfortably."
After their parents left, Kim Dong-young and Kim Yae-eun were left alone. The two had differing opinions about how often they had met, saying, "I've seen you a lot," and, "I haven't seen you much," with Kim Yae-eun stating, "I have only seen you 5 times in two months."
MC Kim Kuk-jin said, "I thought you had met more than 10 times," while Choi Sung-kook added, "If it's only 4 times, there was no chance to give her certainty. I understand Miss Yae-eun's feelings."
Kim Dong-young remarked, "You never suggest to meet first. You haven't called me or suggested to meet at all." Kim Yae-eun responded, "I wanted to meet, and after my exam, I can see you on weekdays. I want to suggest meeting, but my brother has to exercise and meet friends, so I can't say it. My brother has left a strong impression of being very busy to me."
Kim Dong-young said, "How would you know if I only think about it but don't say anything?" Kim Yae-eun replied, "I think I didn't say anything for fear that my brother would decline because he is busy. I got scared," and shared, "Sometimes, my brother just feels like a younger sibling to me. I wonder if he sees me as a woman and is getting to know me, or if he sees me too much like a younger sister. I'm a bit curious about that." Kim Dong-young responded, "If there were no feelings, I wouldn't have met. The reason I sent you pictures when I went somewhere was also for that reason."
In an interview with the production team, Kim Dong-young expressed, "I thought I was providing a lot of certainty. I asked about schedules, shared daily life, and listened if we had concerns. If there was no certainty, I don't think we would have had currency either. My process of opening my heart takes a bit longer," he lamented.
