SME (hereinafter SM C&C) is teaming up with SBS Studio Prism to present "Our Ballad."
On the 11th, at the SM C&C headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, the contract signing ceremony for the joint venture of SBS "Our Ballad" was held with the attendance of CEO Park Tae-hyun of SM C&C, Chief Artistic Officer Lee Seong-soo of SM Entertainment, CEO Park Jeong-hoon of SBS Studio Prism, and Chief of Entertainment Division Choi Young-in of SBS Studio Prism.
SBS "Our Ballad" is a new music audition program presented by SBS, a leading authority in authentic domestic auditions, aimed at finding the voices of 2025 to reinterpret the ballads that were once my songs.
The audition participants, consisting of teens and those in their 20s, will not only remake songs that evoke memories of the past for the older generation but also aim to create a time that fosters intergenerational understanding. This large-scale project involving SBS, SM C&C, and SM Entertainment is set to air its first broadcast in September.
At this contract signing ceremony, the Republic of Korea's cultural content corporation and leading management agency SM C&C, the frontrunner of K-pop SM Entertainment, and SBS Studio Prism gathered in one place to discuss various aspects of the business related to "Our Ballad" and the future activities of the artists produced by the program.
In particular, through this joint venture contract signing, SM C&C expressed its ambition to expand its business areas to include singer management, music distribution, and performances based on its solid entertainment and actor management system and years of broadcasting production infrastructure, raising expectations for its future steps.
CEO Park Tae-hyun of SM C&C noted, "I have high expectations for the synergy that will be created through the collaboration between SBS Studio Prism, which has abundant resources and infrastructure related to broadcasting production, and SM C&C." He added, "As SM C&C embarks on a new leap through this joint venture agreement, it is expected that a new ballad audition will be born. Please pay a lot of attention to 'Our Ballad,' which will bring a new breeze to the audition scene."
Choi Young-in, Chief of Entertainment Division at SBS Studio Prism, stated, "As a leading authority in auditions, SBS plans to present the best ballad audition and will create synergy with SM C&C in various areas through this joint venture.
