Jun Hyun-moo from 'Crazy Rich Koreans' has been targeted again. Acknowledging his two public relationships, he eventually said, "I was managing (work and relationships) concurrently."
In the 9th episode of KBS 2TV's entertainment program 'Crazy Rich Koreans,' which aired on March 10, the appearance of Jang Han-na, attending as a special panel judge for the 'ICCR' World Conductor Competition held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, was depicted. The world-class maestra Jang Han-na captivated the Netherlands with her electrifying performance.
Arriving in the Netherlands, approximately 8,630 km from Seoul, Jang Han-na took the official vehicle that had come to greet her at the airport and headed to the final round venue of the 'ICCR,' known as the gateway for emerging conductors worldwide. Having started her music career by winning the Rostropovich Competition at the age of 11, Jang Han-na explained her motivation for participating as a judge, saying, "I want to give opportunities to those who love music and desperately want to excel, just like I did back then."
As the competition intensified, Jang Han-na carefully observed the conducting styles of the six representative conductors from each continent who advanced to the final round, as well as their interactions and communication with the orchestra members. She took out a red pen and a blue pen to note detailed evaluations while immersing herself in the participants' conducting.
As the final concert concluded, this competition came to a great finale. Jang Han-na applauded her juniors' passionate performances to encourage them and later extended heartfelt congratulations to the co-winners, Miguel and Luis, at the celebration party. Both of them expressed their admiration for Jang Han-na, saying, "I look for your performance materials when studying," and "I really wanted to meet you."
After finishing the competition judging, Jang Han-na moved to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, where instead of resting at her accommodation, she spent the night studying music scores, preparing for her performance at the world-renowned Concertgebouw, which boasts a 130-year history. After much consideration, she chose Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 as the piece she would conduct, claiming to be a 'Beethoven superfan' by mimicking his morning coffee routine.
In a previous broadcast, Jang Han-na had shown her affection for Gustav Mahler, but when she exhibited a behavior reminiscent of a young Beethoven fan, MC Jun Hyun-moo raised the suspicion of a transfer relationship, asking, "What happened to Mahler?" Jang Han-na clarified, "I wouldn't exist without Beethoven; he made me a conductor. After becoming a conductor, Mahler was waiting for me." To this, Jun Hyun-moo replied, "That's what a transfer relationship is," generating laughter.
Meanwhile, Ji Ye-eun, who firmly stated she would choose 'love' over work, pointed out Jun Hyun-moo, saying, "You can't just die working all the time, can you? Like you, senior," while Kwak Tube added, "Hyun-moo finds love at work usually," striking a double blow. Surprised by the attack from the younger members, Jun Hyun-moo said, "I was managing both at the same time," offering a bittersweet smile.
Finally, the day of the concert arrived, and Jang Han-na presented an overwhelming, high-quality performance before an audience of about 2,000, collaborating with the top-ranked Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO). She interpreted Beethoven's grand and dynamic symphony in her own creative way, delivering an even more powerful and energetic conducting in the final movement, simultaneously moving and thrilling the audience.
Despite it being her first collaboration with the RCO, Jang Han-na showcased perfect synergy with the world-class musicians, creating an exceptional performance. As soon as the performance ended, Jang Han-na personally shook hands with the musicians to express her gratitude and bowed to the audience, who responded with thunderous applause, elegantly closing the Amsterdam concert's finale.
At the end of the broadcast, the group IVE appeared as the ninth Crazy Rich Korean. The members expressed what they have been crazy about lately with the single word 'momentum,' stating, "Even if we make mistakes, we should push forward with momentum and confidence," revealing their world-class confidence and attitude.
In the next episode, IVE's journey to Berlin, Germany, for the world's four major music festivals, 'Lollapalooza,' will be unveiled. However, as unexpected situations have made the normal progression of the concert uncertain, curiosity grows about whether the members will safely take the stage at 'Lollapalooza Berlin.'
