Dear X visits the Busan International Film Festival.
On the 11th, the production team of the TVING original series 'Dear X' (written by Choi Ja-won and Ban Ji-woon, directed by Lee Eung-bok and Park So-hyun) announced that it has been selected as an official invitation for the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
According to this, 'Dear X' has been invited to the 'On Screen' section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which will be held from September 17 to 26. The On Screen section showcases notable series scheduled to be released on OTT platforms. Since 2022, TVING has consistently included titles in the official invitation lineup, beginning with 'Yonder' and 'Murder Case', then 'A Fortunate Day' and 'I Am A Running Mate' in 2023, followed by 'One Week Before I Die' and 'Good or Bad Dong-jae' in 2024, leading up to 'Dear X' in 2025, demonstrating its presence as a leading OTT.
'Dear X', set to be released in November, tells the story of actress Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), who wears a mask to escape from hell and rise to the top, and the cruel experiences of those known as X. It revolves around the downfall of Baek Ah-jin, who rises from the lowest to the highest points of life, and the desperate love of Yoon Jun-seo (played by Kim Young-dae), who chose hell to protect him, offering a unique and captivating tale of destructive melodramatic suspense.
The fact that director Lee Eung-bok, known for creating hits like 'Sweet Home', 'Mr. Sunshine', 'Goblin', and 'Descendants of the Sun', is presenting this work for the first time on TVING arouses anticipation. Adding to this is director Park So-hyun, a master of expressive direction, along with writers Choi Ja-won, who received the Grand Prize in the 2018 KBS Monodrama Script Contest, and Ban Ji-woon from the original webtoon. Given that the work is based on a popular webtoon with a strong global fanbase, it has already become a topic of conversation even before its release.
Amid high expectations for the collaboration of Kim Yoo-jung, Kim Young-dae, Kim Do-hoon, and Lee Yeol-eum, some episodes will have their world premiere during the Busan International Film Festival, further exciting fans.
'Dear X' will have its first release on TVING in November.
