SHINee's Key returned with his third studio album 'Hunter' and enjoyed the fortune of coinciding with the Netflix 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' syndrome.
On the afternoon of the 11th, a press conference was held at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul Eastfold Broadway Grand Ballroom in Gwangjin District, Seoul, to celebrate the release of SHINee Key's third studio album 'Hunter'. Key stated about track 1, 'Strange', "I was in a situation where I filmed a music video and didn't expect 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' to come out. The 'Golden' high note challenge is also ironically trending, and it worked out well. I wondered if I could ride this wave. There were reactions asking if I was conscious of that, but the timing wasn't right. 'Hunter' came out well when it became familiar to everyone."
He added, "However, I didn't expect 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' to come out on Netflix. I was in a situation where I had already filmed the music video, and then 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' was released. The 'Golden' high note challenge coincidentally became a trend, so it worked out. I wondered if I could ride this wave. There were reactions questioning whether I was conscious of it, but that timing didn't work out. 'Hunter' came out well when it was familiar." He smiled.
Key's third studio album 'Hunter' is his new album released three years after the second studio album 'Gasoline' in August 2022, featuring various stories about 'self' and 'identity' throughout. It contains 10 tracks, including the title track of the same name. All tracks will be released on music platforms at 6 p.m. on the day of release.
The title track 'Hunter' is a dance song that harmonizes a grand bass and heavy kick sound with rhythmic guitar riffs and various synth pads. The lyrics express the obsession of 'self' towards another and the 'ecstasy in pain' felt in a complicated relationship, combined with Key's dynamic vocals, creating a dramatic charm in the song.
